Thank you Theresa!! and I hope your holiday weather is cooler than ours!!! The closest I have gotten to Canada was through EPCOT lol and I love the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I hope to one day see them in person. While I am so glad we have reason to celebrate our Independence, the heat and humidity makes it my least celebrated holiday! We run outside to put up flags - and run back inside. When my children were smaller I would fight the traffic to take them so see fireworks - sometimes getting home after midnight and getting up early the next day for work. Thank you! I hope the weather is better elsewhere in this vast country, than it is here. Today it is cool and raining. And Mary's husband wanted to go to the beach. Not so far from here so I doubt it was beach weather for them. We have had rain almost every day for what seems like ages. At Sat. night's church service, the youth choir sang as a closing hymn "Rain Down". So we will blame today on them. Hope it warms up for the 4th for y'all. Theresa

We're having a rainy dreary day and still trying to decide what to do. We have fireworks and smores that were planned for tonight but I think it will be a task for this weekend. We might be staying in this Canada day. It's a day of mixed feelings since my grandfather died 5 years ago today. It's still a celebratory day though, but he's always in my thoughts. I think he just wanted to go out with a bang. ;)

We just had a visitor who lives near Vancouver. We went there on our honeymoon, and to Whistler...in summer. Beautiful. Outrageously expensive now. Did you go to Bowen Island? That was amazing!

I love that, Zalco! And butter tarts! but I have to say, eating one makes my teeth hurt, so sweet and rich.

Lately when we go shopping in Toronto, I haven’t seen bagged milk much. And that’s at NoFrills. At first I though bagged milk was odd but cool, Now I rather like it. Is it still a thing?

I've only been in Manitoba.....Winnipeg & Riding-Mountain Golf-Course (golfed there in the early 80's...). I don't have a Passport, but DW & DD do. They got one to see Heart & Elton-John a few years ago. I SHOULD get one!! I wanna go to a CFL Game....& maybe a Winnipeg Jets/MN Wild game up THERE!!

DW & DD have been to Banff 3?? times. I've always had to stay home with the dog & work. It's sure a long-a$$ drive from Fargo they tell me!

Some DAMN GOOD Rock groups from Canadia obviously! Heart, RUSH, BTO, Loverboy, etc. Saying that.....now I've gotta go crank my fave Canadian screamers, BTO's "Sledgehammer"....;-)

Thank you, from Alberta : ) . It's our first Canada Day as empty nesters so it's a very nice quiet day of gardening and no need to stay up until 11 pm to drive to town for fireworks lol.
