Cheer HE liquid?
Comments (12)The P & G Free detergents are free of perfumes and dyes. I have long suspected that the blue in most detergents is a mild blueing agent to keep whites that crisp bright bluish white people like while not effecting the colors of other clothes. My theory is kind of supported by the fact they have to put optical brighteners in the free versions so the consumer would get that same bright white effect. It would also explain why the free versions have trouble averting dye transer in some situations when tested by CR. One could surmise that the non free detergents must also have an added ingredient to prevent the dye in the detergent from building up on clothing and preventing whites from becoming too blue. No dye in the free means they do not have to add whatever it is to prevent the blue from building up as there is none. All theories like I said, but it does make ya think. Anyway, Cheer HE is still working here with no probs so far....See MoreCheer He powder now available
Comments (18)Non-HE Cheer powderdoes just fine in "smaller capacity" high efficiency front loaders such as the Askos and Miele machines that I've been using it in for nearly two decades. It is my main everyday detergent. I initially chose if for its low-sudsing attribute but stayed with it because it cleans perfectly in my machines and with my water chemistry, at a very low dosing rate: @1.25 tablespoons, or one scant scoop using the green Charlie's Soap scoop. One large, "81-load" box of non-HE regular Cheer powder lasts me for more than a year, even though I do dozens of loads per week. (Admittedly some of those loads are done with other specialty products for wool, silk, and down, etc.) Every time they update the product I worry they've made changes - so far that hasn't happened. But I routinely keep about 3 years worth of detergent on hand, just in case. I can only find it now at Target, it was formerly also available at WalMart. Comments (6)I wanted to try the Cheer because of all the raves on this forum related to best laundry detergent. I have tried the Gain and it is ok and will try the regular Tide HE powder if I decide I don't want to use the non HE Cheer. Hoped to hear from some of the Cheer lovers who have front loaders....See MoreCheer vs Persil Pearls
Comments (31)I have had several issues with the GG pods in my Miele. I actually quit using them for several weeks, until yesterday. Originally, I put the pod in the back of the tub before I added laundry. The semi-dissolved pod immediately made its way into the tub boot and smeared its self on the glass. This happened twice in a week. Then I tried it in the dispenser drawer, and it dissolved. With a full, absorbent load it all gets flushed away. A small load, nope. So, now I just use a bra/mesh bag or a sock or a pillowcase to deliver the pod to the wash. My washer is set up to only fill with cold water, which probably affects how quickly the pods dissolve. I also wash fuller loads than most people, which could potentially delay dissolving. Europeans tend to wash fuller loads than Americans, at full capacity. Since I have a European washer, I wash like it, because the machines are designed that way. I already do a ton of laundry and could not imagine washing 1/2 to 3/4 full loads all the time!...See Morelarsi_gw
