They may be an ivilliage thing but there is obviously some way to stop or prevent them because I don't see them. I have Verizon DSL that has a pop-up blocker but I don't think it's anything fancy. I use the Google Tool Bar and it has more pop-up blocker stuff on it. I also run Ad-Aware and Spybot at least once a week and clean out my temp files every other day or so. No problems. It all only takes a few minutes to do, it's free and its worth it.

With IE7 and XP SP2, I can go to Tools when open with IE and the Pop Up Blocker designation is second line - Turn On or Off. Mine's off, because I have another program (not free) that blocks all pop ups even more effectively - but I'm curious as to why you want yours off. They are so annoying....

Grubby_Me I am not sure what your point is. People are not whining about anything. Ads and especially popups make using the system difficult. People show their appreciation by participating and making the website a success. Thanks for the adblock link. It installed just fine. As to this forgery screen that was popping up on me... I know now that it was one more virus ploy and that if I clicked on either of their two fake buttons I was opening the door for them to download their garbage on my system. I did a system restore back to where I had not clicked on their stupid screen and most of the new programs they had added disappeared from my control panel. Hopefully that has taken care of it.
