What do you cook on?

For some reason I did not notice until today that there are other areas of this site. So I started looking around the appliance forum and saw some interesting threads. I have not figured out peoples motives over there so I think this might be the better place to ask these questions:

Do you cook on a professional style range or do you have significant experience using one? If so do you think there is a real benefit to both cooking itself and end result or is it more show. Which statement would you most agree with:

1) It is all marketing hype.

2) There is some convenience to having several high power burners but it is not necessary.

3) Professional ranges offer much better heat power and distribution which results in better tasting food.
