do you enjoy reading the most? I'd have to say Marilyn sue as she seems to be so down to eath talking about going places with her daughter, the weather, good buys that she finds and what she ate and etc" Always upbeat and let me repeat " so down to earth !

Enjoy all the post but hers the most.

enduring: thanks --- the bedroom and bathroom walls are painted same color (as is newly created suite area between them) and this goes a very long way toward harmonious feel. Antique headboard is about same the finish as the bathroom vanity and this helps too. I did the best I could to make the original bathroom attractive, but it was a losing battle. I did not post the photos of mold, cracked tile, rusty hinges, broken tiles and fixtures, and the hated hollow core door. The room never felt clean no matter what I did. Ugh, it just wore me down. Towel bars on door were my only option as I wanted to eliminate clutter on walls. Original idea was to mount towel bar on half-wall, but the resulting clutter and narrowed walkway weren't worth it. Since the bathroom door is closed during showering anyway, it isn't a big deal for me to reach over to the door for my towel. DH takes his towel from door and hangs on shower door towel bar for easier access. Normally the bathmat hangs on shower door towel bar. This process is still not ingrained in our "muscle memory" but we are trying. We mounted the hand towel ring on the wall of the toilet nook, so to dry hands at the sink, I make a half turn behind me to reach hand towel --- or take the towel over to counter and rehang it after drying. Again, hiding towel ring there cuts out clutter. It would make more sense to hang towel ring on a tower beside sink, but I worried about the water droplets hitting the wood tower and making a mess over time. If the vanity were painted instead of stained, this probably would not have been an issue. See the tiny details that must be considered from the very beginning stages of planning?!?! We have two grab bars (Moen) in the shower. GC blocked the studs during build-out to accommodate these bars. Jury still out on whether we could have gotten by with handheld shower head only. During the weeks we were without a shower door (fabricator cut the door too tall; what frustration!), I carefully showered with handheld and grew to love it. Full-time though? I am not sure. Possibly so. Good luck with your plans.

A quarter inch might be his issue as he would have to replan his stair setup or shim as needed. Also, he may just simply want to make that extra profit on making the posts himself and also has a lot of pride invested in making up his own finish product, this is quite specialized. Most stair manufacturers provide everything as an assembly, planned to fit together as one. I'd start talking to other contractors instead of going with this guy as seems he laid out his strategy and its a take it or leave it kind of thing.

At the moment, this whole thing feels very "in my face" as DS is taking (and re-taking and re-taking) his college boards. And sadly, his earlier struggles with reading still can't be put neatly behind him because he's misreading the SAT/ACT questions and getting them wrong when he knows the material! But of course, he's not dyslexic either - (Just ask Ex!) And all of the experts who said he was were just doing it for the money they would make doing the tutoring that didn't get done. (I did get some remedial work in, but not enough before Ex and StepMom intervened and put a stop to it.) And now Ex is threatening to pull DS's college fund because he's blaming DS's poor test performance on "LAZY"! (OK - Granted, there's some truth to the 'he's lazy' position, but it's also $100K worth of convenient.)

I find almost all the posts interesting. I love all of Glenda's comments. I miss Nita's posts - where did she go?

I used to enjoy many posts of folks we don't hear from any more - where's Lazy Pup - I read his posts over and over - he always makes me laugh!

I tend to look more at the topic than at who posted it.

Even if I had a favorite though, I don't think I'd post it because it might make others feel left out.

I enjoy most who post and respond and I rather not single out one person as being a favorite. Lots and lots of great wonderful persons that I enjoy at the KT.

I agree with Glenda about not wanting to single out one person...but I have to say that Dottie and Marlen always had the funniest posts. I sure do miss those wonderful ladies. RIP, dear friends.

Marilyn and Nita post on another board now. They were no longer happy here so they went elsewhere.

There are several people whose post I always enjoy here but there are also several whose post I never read because of their negativity.

I have a few favs that I always open but won't mention their names. Ok, one I'll mention.....
Dottie was one of them years ago. She had me laughing all the time. Even if it wasn't suppose to be funny I'd smile just because it was her post. Like Wanda said, RIP.

I enjoy this group and come here usually a few times a day. I don't post often as I don't seem to have a lot to say, but I enjoy everyone's input.

But...since I am posting, I have to say I had a great 3 day weekend with DD and her 2 year old and 5 year old sons visiting us. They are cuties!

I, too look at the topic rather than the poster. If I'm interested in the topic I open it up if not, I scroll on down. I'm amused at reading all the different opinions. The only ones I don't like are the posters who "beat that horse to death" or anyone who posts with the sole intention of stirring up S#$%!!!

I, too, am more interested in the subjects than the posters - though sometimes I'll check someone's post mainly to see what they are saying, as there's usually something interesting there, but I'm not about to identify whose, for reasons already cited above.

I find this an enjoyable place to visit, look upon a number of participants as friends, have enjoyably met several face to face ...

... and can "shoot off my mouth", on occasion.
