Ditto what Amy said. And be prepared to accept "close enough" realtive to the paint chip. BenM has their own proprietary colorants that are different from other colorants. Plus every brand's base is a little different too. The only way to get Ben Moore colors is to go to Ben Moore. However, *matches* that are close can be had if you have a chip and know to expect anywhere from what looks to be a spot-on *match* in your opinion to it's close enough and it'll do.

Nancita: You are a girl after my own heart! I would love to see photos of your home. My mother's family is from central and south Florida...and they have been for generations so I'm very familiar with your home's style, etc. Also..I am a native of New Orleans. I lived there my entire life (49 years) unti last year when I moved to SA, Texas. I, too, love color....I guess it's due to the carribbean, french and spanish influences I grew up with in NOLA. The home I sold prior to moving to Texas was a 1930s raised Acadian cottage. My LR was a coral "shrimpy" color...the kitchen and hallway to the bedrooms and bathrooms were yellow...a really warm buttery (no green) yellow. One bedroom was parrot green...one was periwinkle...MBed and Bath were painted a watery aqua...and the 2nd full bath and 1/2 bath were "beach glass." I had the old black and white 1930s tiles in both bathrooms too, as well as subway tile. I kept the wood walls of the sunroom white but painted the old pine boards on the floor aqua..the same aqua of the water in the carribbean. The rest of the house had oak floors. Some of my furniture is dark...other pieces are old pine from Scotland..which due to age is a rich color - not light...but not dark either. I love a mix of the old with pops of new. We are so similar. Now to your question....I always used white bedding...towels, etc. in all rooms. I didn't want color or much pattern on the linens to compete with the color on the walls. Plus I had a lot of art in my house and there was color in it too...but more subtle color as most of it was vintage oils or watercolors. I didn't have curtains because they seemed too fussy for the house but I used wood slat blinds in the rooms that needed privacy. So...I vote for white...and you can use lots of textures...smooth, nubby, fluffy, linen, etc. If there is any way you could take photos I'd love to see them. I have a few photos of my home in NOLA that I'll add to this post. I wish I had better and more photos...but I don't. There is blue tape in one because I was painting and changing the glass in the door to reeded glass for privacy....the yellow of the kitchen wall looks faded in the flash...the bed isn't fully made up, but you get the drift. I have the real estate video on a CD but I can't capture stills from it.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I'm going to look into several of these. He chose Dill Pickle for now and am struggling to find a neutral for the other 3 walls that compliment it. Any ideas? I'm using guilford in our home office, love it!

Also, house gets a lot of sun, especially afternoon. Snowy, cold in winter. Dusty area and in a clearing above a river in the woods = mildew prone.
