Ben Moore paint- need green color to go with quilt...

My 7 year old son wants to keep his navy PBK madras plaid quilt after our home Reno. He wants one green wall and 3 neutral walks. Anyone know of a good green (and neutral for that matter!!) to go with this quilt? The oak floors will be stained special walnut, simply white doors and trim. His furniture is tbd - either a dark wood or navy.... For now we've picked Dill Pickle but I'm afraid it's too yellow.... Here is the quilt:

Benjamin Moore pairs Dill Pickle with Rodeo, which is a really nice, soft color

You might look at BM Lime Twist, or if you want something more muted, BM Central Park.

It is a very nice space. I agree with toolbabe about the multitude of colors going on in the kitchen. Its hard to tell what color the countertop and backsplash is, but it appears to be grey-ish. From here it doesn't look to be the greatest choice with the cabinets, but short of re-doing either, I would do all the walls in both spaces a warm grey to tie everything together. Stonington Grey, Bunny Grey, Big Bend Beige popped as potentials. Surely many others. It will work nicely with the blacks and the SS and provide cohesiveness. You could bring in something more colorful in the window treatments or maybe an accent wall in the living room. Maybe something in the orange/rust/coppery family - Copper Mountain is one. That would also connect with your cabinets.

adh673, You definitely don't have to choose colors from the same paint strip. Some people do and there is nothing wrong with that if the colors meet their expectations. I do agree with you on having cohesiveness through out the home. Just depends on what you are wanting to see as a future color palette for your rooms and what the other surroundings are. The colors on the same strip of BM all consist of the same family of universal tints and the amount of the formula and the tint base will change with each of the colors on "that" strip. When you go to a different strip you will have a different family of colors arranging from #1base down to a deep base with the formula of the same tints used but only at different ratios. Nothing wrong if you decide to choose from the Classic and then want to go over to the Color Preview for another hue. It is whatever will fit your rooms and what you want your rooms to say to you. Take in consideration your lighting and surroundings. All of these play important parts on how colors are perceived. I just got back from a 10day cruise and I am now on the quest myself looking into some of the Caribbean blues. The waters and sky were amazing. Do you have specific colors in mind that you are drawn to?

Sheen of any kind definitely shows flaws so if you want to cover flaws, use flat. However, I do love eggshell for everything, except trim. Eggshell has a bit of a sheen at first, but over a few months that does diminish, but you still have the durability and washability of the eggshell. Flat paint is just so blah to me. Eggshell just looks better. I would keep the trim on the windows the same as the trim in the adjoining room.

Just painted my almost 4 year old's room SW Naval. Came out awesome. Would look great with that quilt.

See if it will fly w him :)

BM Guilford Green. It has a slight yellow undertone. I have it in my bedroom.

I like Tib's Courtyard as well.

Another vote for BM Guilford Green. I have that shade throughout my home and it's a very livable green. Not too bold, not too wimpy. Just right.

I think a darker green than the Guilford would better suit a boy's room.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I'm going to look into several of these. He chose Dill Pickle for now and am struggling to find a neutral for the other 3 walls that compliment it. Any ideas?

I'm using guilford in our home office, love it!

Thanks for posting the Guilford, Tib. I just have to add that it looks much richer than the sample shows. i don't know why it's hard to get a true representation of the Guilford.

I think an accent wall maybe needs a bolder color than Guilford Green, esp. in a boy's room.

I usually don't like green, but painted a paneled family room Guilford Green....what a great color.

I love guilford but in the context I've seen it, it looked fairly neutral and more a colour I'd user everywhere instead of an accent wall.
