I just asked her if she uses wrinkle care on the dryer and she said yes. But she said the dryer doesn't spin after the clothes are dry, it makes noise, but the clothes just sit there. Is that normal for wrinkle care?

How much laundry is she washing in one load? Most people think that because it's a frontloader that they can be packed full. You can fill the drum but not pack it full. Just like a toploader it should be filled loosely.

She doesn't pack it at all. Maybe 6 pairs of slacks at a time.

One other thing, her matching dryer never completely dries and all the repairmen have told it is supposed to be that way in case you want to iron. I've never had a dryer not completely dry my clothes. Even her towels come out slightly damp - who would want to iron towels?

I think she has a defective set, but has had it so long she's out of luck. She works long hours and travels, so just hasn't had the time to get repairman out their every week until they admit and replace them. She's had time to call only every few months when she gets sick to death of it.

Don't have solution for her but her service people are blowing smoke.

Hard water has nothing to do with it. Spin speed may.

The dryer is NOT "supposed to be that way". Even older dryers with sensors have cycle-selections for different degrees of dryness, one of which will certainly be all the way dry. Even cheap dryers will do that. Obstructed vents can cause this kind of symptom. I'd check that before doing anything else.

The wrinkle-guard thing is certainly faulty operation.

From your description, the dryer is certainly faulty. Can't get a handle on the washer. In any event, her service people are jerking her around. If there's any way to get different machines, I'd do that. If she can get them from a different vendor with non-deceptive service people, that would be better still.

My LG dryer was not drying efficiently. My husband took apart the vents and cleaned a large amount of debris out of the vent tubing. That improved the function A LOT.

Select the "More Dry" option until you get the desired amount of dryness.

"Wrinkle Care" should tumble the clothes for a minute or two and then stop for 5 or so minutes and tumble again for a few...this goes on until the Wrinkle Care cycle is done.

There is no heat used in the Wrinkle Care cycle.

I'm agreeing with the possibly too full loads... for the washer... I have only lowered my spin speed on delicates... and rarely have a tangling/wrinkling problem... unless I do only pants, or only long sleeved things... or only pnats with long sleeved things.. you get the point here... long pi8eces of fabric that twist together and then don't come undone easily cause knots and thus wrinkles... make sure easy load has a mix of fabrics and items... just sort down by colors... only exception I do on this is I do towels and sheets together... with out clothes as I 'sanitize' them....

dryer... that is definitely te venting... if it is the flexible platsic with the wire spring inside replace it with rigid piping... and clean the entire duct out...

There is something odd going on with your dryer, so I don't know if my experience will help or not, but months from now, someone else might be reading this thread, so here goes.

When I first got a FL, I also had problems with wrinkles. In my case, setting the dryer HEAT setting lower made all the difference. The clothes come out of the FL just barely damp -- compared to sopping wet with the old TL. I was used to setting the highest heat setting. With the FL, high dryer heat settings dried the clothes so quickly, it just baked in the normal wrinkles from the spin cycle.

When I turned down the heat setting, it allowed the clothes to get warm and tumble in the dryer while they were still damp. It's this damp tumbling that worked out the wrinkles.

I often use the absolute lowest heat setting for everyting except towels. Doesn't seem to take any longer to dry, even for jeans, which do not get wrinkles when dried on Delicate.

My LG dryer will underdry on small-medium loads. It has to do with the location of the sensor. If yours is always damp, select the MoreDry button a few times for dryer results.

And i never use more than Medium heat.
