Ikea Cabinets - Which Line is Best Quality?
Comments (13)While it sounds like the Fagerland and the Liljestad lines, being solid wood, are the top quality at Ikea, I know that the colors of those two would be too dark for my friend. I am still confused then. Barrelhead - is your posting above of Ikea lines in order of quality? Are the flat panel doors (ie. Nexus, Perfekt and Rubrik) higher quality than the framed doors (like Adel, Askome, Tidaholm)? I am still confused after reading this thread. I've been on the Ikea website and still can't tell what I should look for to get the best quality doors at Ikea. I know Lisaslists says you can tell when you see them, but I am not so sure I will be able to. Amberly said the quality varies quite a bit, and I'll be able to tell when I look at the label. How will I be able to tell? What materials am I looking to find in the label? Or not find in the label? Or if you know of lines that are really the lower-levels, let me know. Thanks everyone....See MoreHow to choose/where to buy cabinet hardware?
Comments (25)lynn2006, This is the one we chose. It is made of stainless steel, but the Zinc, Nickel plate matches our brushed nickels plumbing fixtures. Very well made. See how friendly the price is! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40225413/#/70236151 We like one similar to this one, but the two small metal pieces are vertical instead of horizontal. We may use it in our upcoming MB remodel. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00116699/ this one is comfortable as well, but the concern is its ends may catch clothes. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60138759/ I don't think their website has all the selections as provided in the store. There is one has "Restoration Hardware" look, I like it a lot. May use it for our upcoming guest bathroom. I can post more photos after I stop by at IKEA next time....See MoreCabinet hardware - where did you buy it?
Comments (26)There are lots of threads here on pulls and I looked at most of them because people post pictures and I could see what I liked. I have not bought mine yet (just a sample), but I will be purchasing my pulls from www.justknobs.com . I had been planning on some Restoration Hardware pulls but they were more than I wanted to spend, and I found something I like better for 1/2 the price of the RH pulls I was considering. If you share what style you like, people may be able to give you suggestions....See MoreNeed advice on best cabinet line!
Comments (5)I will never use Waypoint/Shenandoah/American Woodmark on another project ever. Terrible finishes, horrible packaging, and slow replacements. I quit using them entirely because they could not get a single order to a job site without damage. And the ones they did, had glue leaking out of where the panels were joined or warped doors that they considered ''cosmetic'' and wouldn't replace. Instead, the install crew had to work extra man hours covering their sorry behinds. I wouldn't use any of the others either. Not if I had expectations of quality. "Plywood" and "soft close" are buzz words that mean nothing without specifics. Most people have zero discernment about cabinet quality levels and just hear the buzz words. The lowest level that I would consider is Diamond/Kemper/Schlock, Kraftmaid (not the cheapo entry level line) or Medallion /Schuler, etc. True mid grade lines....See Morelimom_2bts
