I have one. Seriously. It takes things and returns them the next day. I call it the poltergist. My husband didn't believe me until it happened to something he was looking for.
It always takes something that should be in plain sight and when it returns it, it returns it right back where it should have been in the first place.

Marilyn,my DD had one for real a few years ago in a mobile home that she owned.She would catch glimpses of a little girl at times and her dogs would act crazy like they could see something that wasn't there.She moved out of that house and DS and his family moved in.DGD was about 3 at the time.She started doing things that she hadn't normally done,just being naughty,talking back etc.We just thought it was a stage she was going through.One day her mom asked her why she was being so difficult and she said Annabell told her to do it.We thought it was just her imaginary friend because she talked to her all the time.Well,come to find out there were three little girls that she could see and talk to.Annabell was the oldest one and the trouble maker.She described what she looked like and it was the same little girl that DD was seeing glimpses of.She was dressed like a child from the turn of the century.There was also a baby about 2 years old.We wondered if these children maybe died on this property years ago.They all had names but I can't remember any of them but Annabell.DGD is 15 now and she has no recollection of any of this.Very strange!
I have another story,(long) about a "MY Buddy" doll that I gave DGS one year for Christmas but I won't go into that right now.Anyone remember those dolls? They kind of looked like Chucky.

Lillie...my husband says you should have that checked....You must have a break in the wiring somewhere...maybe the wind was blowing and the trailer moved a little and it reconnected.

For whatever reason it could be dangerous.

Could start a fire.

Just in the past few years, my sister and I have been talking about our lives growing up and past experiences..
She is 48 years old now and told me a story that I believe with every bone in my body. When we were young, she was probably 4 and I was 6, we went every Sunday to my Grandmothers house for supper. She said that she could always see a man in the living room, and he seemed really friendly. Never talked but had a very gentle manner and a kind face. She could never understand how we would all ignore him. She thought we were rude. He would sit at the dinner table with all of us, and she just could never understand how nobody paid any attention to him. She was too afraid to say anything so she never did.
As the years rolled on, she now is certain that she was seeing our grandfather who had been dead for probably 25 years during this time in our lives.
We are trying hopelessly to find a picture of him so she can tell us if that was the man she always saw at grandma's house.

She is sure it was him picture or not, she just says that it seemed like grandpa to her. He died long before any of us were born.

A couple of weeks ago DH called an electrician that we have used before and he said it was most likely in the box under the house where the wires go into the breaker box.He said a lot of times the wires will work loose or wear a little and lose the connection there.He said we needed to disconnect the wires,strip them and replace those plastic nuts that cover the splice and that would probably fix it.DH just hasn't had a chance to do it plus it has been so cold here.He retired last Friday and it is suppose to warm up here this weekend so he hasn't got any more excuses!LOL

Lillie ~ I was going to say the same thing Patti said. You may have a loose wire or a short and if you do there is a danger of fire. Please have it checked at once.

There are several old homes around here that boast of ghosts. Poet and don't know it? I think the stories are just great. I'd love to believe them!

We're still trying to figure out how one of our computers got unplugged during the night not long ago. No way a cat could have brushed across it- it takes a mighty effort to unplug it. Besides, the cord was lying on the desk behind the computer, not hanging down the side of the desk like it would have been if the plug had just dropped out of the outlet.

Lillie,you shouldn't let the sun go down on another day without getting that wiring fixed.Mobile homes go up in smoke a whole lot faster than a "normal" home.I just wouldn't take any more chances with that.Not trying to scare you or anything.Be safe.

Gmom, is there anyone in your family who has ever sleepwalked? My roommate will kinda sleepwalk when she's stressed out, except she does things like unmake and remake the bed so that she wakes up with her head at the opposite end. Weird stuff like that. Or maybe there was a storm in the middle of the night and someone not quite awake automatically got up to unplug the computers....?

We had several at our old house. They were children and I could hear them talking all the time. It was freaky at first but then we got used to them.

OK,the story about the Buddy doll.When DGS was about 2 I gave him one of the "My Buddy" dolls that were real popular then.He will be 18 this month.He didn't like it from the beginning,wouldn't play with it,wouldn't touch it wouldn't go in the same room it was in and if you put it near him he would scream and cry.Said it was "looking at him".That in itself should have told me something but,I just figured he would warm up to it after a while.I thought it was cute.He was about 24 inches tall and looked like a little boy,blonde hair,blue eyes and freckles wearing overalls and a red and white plaid shirt.Sort of reminded me of DGS.Anyway,after about a month of DGS not wanting to have anything to do with it we stuck him up in the top of a closet and forgot about him for about 6 months.Then DS,DIL and kids moved out of our house into a home of their own.The doll went too, packed in a box and was put in the top of a closed in DGS's room.We kept thinking that someday he might decide he wanted to play with it.After they had lived in the house for several months they had been gone one day when they came home the box that had the doll in it was on the bottom of the closet floor with the doll laying on the floor beside it.How did it get off the shelf,we don't know.Thought it may have just fallen and thought nothing of it.DIL sat it in DGS's little rocking chair.He still didn't want to play with it but didn't seem as frightened as before so DIL just left it there.Second night it was in the room DGS got up during the night and got in bed with DS and DIL,not really that unusual but next night did the same after having a bad dream.This continued for about a week,every few nights.One day he told DIL he didn't want that doll in his room because it was looking at him so she put it back in the top of the closet.Next morning it was in the floor,maybe it just fell??? A few days later,same thing,so back in the closet.This happened several times over about a months time and DGS continued to have several nightmares a week but still we didn't think much of it.You know,kids have nightmares and are afraid of things all the time.One day DIL and kids were gone for the afternoon and when they came back the doll was sitting in the middle of the bed!There were no pets in the house and nobody had been there.Sooooo needless to say the doll was taken out of the house.When DS came home they put him in the burn barrel with the trash and burned it.Next morning when DS went out to go to work,guess what...........there laid Buddy beside the barrel,charred but not dead!LOL So he put him back in the barrel and that evening set fire to it again.Next morning Buddy was back on the front porch! By this time we were all creeped out so DS put him back in the barrel and poured gasoline on the stuff and set fire to it again.I guess that did the trick because Buddy never showed up again! I know there are "logical" reasons for it being out of the closet and out of the barrel,but I think Buddy was possessed! He did sort of favor "Chucky".
While I have been writing this I have been hearing this rustling noise from the back of my desk.I'm beginning to get a little creeped out wondering if Buddy might be back!LOL Moved some stuff where the noise was coming from and it was a MOUSE!!!! LOL LOL Where's the cat when I need her??? I have known for a couple of weeks that I had a mouse but keep forgetting to buy traps.Well crap,its sitting on the top of my stove right now!LOL Gotta go see if I can swat it with something.LOL

You just creeped me out with your My Buddy story! I was having trouble sleeping tonight and that's why I'm on here so late. Then I read about My Buddy and the burn barrel and I'll be up the rest of the night too! LOL

My youngest son got a My Buddy doll when he was about 3 years old. We had a little neighbor boy who was just downright evil and he was about 6 at the time. After he had come over to play I noticed that something was on the front of My Buddy. I picked it up and that little devil(the neighbor kid) had taken an ink pen and drawn a penis and accessories on My Buddy and very realistic, I might add! I got rid of our My Buddy too but for different reasons. LOL

I'm beginning to think I have a ghost tonight. My TV keeps changing channels and I'm not even touching the remote!

I think we're all possessed!

Parhelia, there's only DH and myself here in the house. As far as I know neither of us sleepwalks. But to show that the story is even weirder:
It is an old computer that we were fixing up for the grandkids so they would stay off ours. I tried to uninstall Norton and put the free version of AVG on it- we didn't want to spend money for Norton again. But when I went to bed I turned the computer off just like I do mine every night. Next morning when we found it had been unplugged and wondered about it, I plugged it back in and it immediately started emitting long loud beeps. Did any of you know that chips are put in computers to make certain beeps to help with diagnosis of problems? I didn't till I looked up 'computer beeps'. Mine meant a problem with memory.

Now, did those beeps start during the night and disturb our ghost enough so that it unplugged the computer? As I said, I can't unplug it- not enough strength in my fingers- and DH sleeps upstairs with his door closed and with a CPAP machine on that is noisy. No way he could have heard it.

It's still a matter of discussion here between us.

We once had a spooky time in our old trailer house. DS was about 2 years old and not very verbal. We'd been watching old horror movies and were kind of on edge. My kids were 14, 12, 3 and 2. Had lots of flickering on and off lights, the toilet lid suddenly flinging UP, etc. Being the brave ones we were, we sent the little guy back to check things out. He was in the bathroom for the longest time and took lots of coaxing to call him back to the living room. When we asked him if someone was in the bathroom, he went into an almost hypnotic state telling us about this "million-year old man" with thick white hair and a beard.

Years later when he was an adult, he was looking at family photos. He stopped short, nearly breathless when he saw a photo of my GGgrandfather. He said that was the man he talked to that night so long ago, no doubt about it. This ancestor had died more than 70 years before my son was born, so none of us had seen him before.

On the other hand, we had the power go out in our trailer one whole winter, on just the north side. We thought water had seeped in through the walls and shorted it out. I agree with the suggestion to get it checked by an electrician just to keep you safe. There have been a lot of house fires with injuries and worse because of wiring problems.

DS also had a Buddy doll, looked just like Chucky. But no scary stories like yours.

Oldest and youngest DDs used to tell stories of their "past" lives in great detail when they were about 2 years old.
