Can you get a night pic of the plants? By wilt at night do you mean they look like they need watering (leaves dont hold their shape kind of like a flag when there is no wind) or do the leaves just lower down closer to the main stalk and the leaves keep their shape?

They don't go into full wilt they sag down. It's hard to explain I'll post some pic's tonight!! Thanks Mike

Sounds like something that happens to my Trinidad Scorpions, the leaves went down towards the ground at night then perked back up, on another thread about ants had me check my plants and the TS on the lower leaves had aphids green tiny bugs. May want to check your plants. After ridding em of aphids, they stopped with the leaves going down in the evening. May or may not be the issue.

have they been fertilized recently or transplanted?
are any of the leaves yellow?

After a long day of growth in the warm sun, new growth will often be very pliable,
in addition to the increased length of the stems. The new growth should stiffen up as day approaches -
I have observed this on many plants. This could be what's happening with yours.

my question is how long does it take for ghost peppers to ripen to red?

I have about 9 pepper plants in pots and they have been getting lots of very hot sun these days and I have noticed this on most of them. I thought to myself, do pepper plants 'go to sleep'? I did not worry about it because on touching the leaves they were not limp, so I just chalked it up to their way of dealing with very hot temperatures.

Hey all thanks for the feed back!!! Josh I think you may be right :) The y is the only part that wits and its as soon as the the sun is going down but my Ghosts are the only ones that do this none of my other hotts. I'll keep an eye on them,maybe still a little too young. Thanks Mike.

In a way Pepper plants do sleep, then again they donâÂÂt. All my years growing peppers I have seen this on many different types of plants, not just peppers. What happens is they perk up during the day to catch sunlight and at night they droop down to conserve energy for growing. When they droop they normally focus there energy into growing taller at night. Hence the feeling âÂÂDang is it me or did my peppers grow taller over night." So I wouldnâÂÂt be worrying about it as long the soil is moist and not dry. It's just what the plants do.
