Speaking as an out-of-shape woman, The wii fit really did help me because it got me moving. I like the balance exercises and the step dance but wish it had more levels.I also do the free step whenever I watch TV so I'm not just sitting there. With continued use it is easy to see improvement in your scores. For someone who is fit the exercises are probably not a challenge but they are fun.

My daughter asked me to get her the Wii Active for her birthday present and she loves it. If your Mom mixed it with say walking and other activities it could be fun. My Mom who is 75 called me a few months back giddy as a school girl because she had treated herself to a new Wii and from what I understand she enjoys it a lot. She hates games usually so go figure! LOL

So what game does your mom like, lukkiirsh? I have doubts about any fitness DVD/game, my mom didn't even use the treadmill so I don't know if she'll use a "game" that requires getting off the couch. She was OK on vacation, we tried to limit the walking but she had surgery on her foot a few months ago - one of a number she's had over the years. She also has fibromyalgia (sp?). So she has some physical limitations as well as just being generally sedentary.

I am alot like your mom.(and the same age) That said I will tell you I have the Wii Fit Plus. most games and work outs use the balance board, but 95 percent of them use only the main controler. If she has a Wii machime there are many she could play, as they start with very little movment and you can work up to more when you are ready. I am not good at games, but I do enjoy these simple ones. Also if she tires of it unlike the treadmill rest of family or aleast the kids would have fun with it.I think most 5or 6yearolds could play alot of the games.

Thanks iggy's mommy. Actually, I was talking to her last night (about finding what DD asked Santa for), I asked her what game, she didn't know but said it was the 1st search result that came up. I still couldn't figure it out (had been looking all day), told her I had already bought something for her, so she said she'd just get it herself.

So I'm off the hook. I think I will save the SD card for mother's Day, but I'll give her the pillows I bought last Xmas and the crystal I got a couple of months ago. I thought the pillows would look nice in her LR at Xmas, and I *know* she can use some new wineglasses since hers are cracked and chipped (must be close to 50 years old, nothing special, just glass not crystal).

Sorry bout the delay, she lives in SoCal and I'm in Michigan so it took me a day to find out. She has the Wii Fit which she says is her favorite. Then she has resort, billiards and word jonge Hope that helps!

ajsmama, That sounds like a great gift to me. Pillows and glass's should be really nice for her. I think if I was to get a game for someone, I would get a gift card for a store and let them pick it out or it just might not be just right for them.
