For some reason, the message box isn't showing up on the happy birthday thread for Renee. All I'm getting is the URL box. I don't know if that's happening to others, but I've tried several times opening the thread, refreshing, and opening it again, to no avail, so...

Beanthere dunthat, I didn't know that either, and like you, find it very interesting! Palm reading may be easier when reading the palm of someone who's lived, rather than one who is developing. I suspect palms are in a way like DNA, but I've wondered at times if people's palms ever change? Lars you have e-mail. You are exactly right when you said one of the powers of Tarot is to make subconscious thoughts conscious. What the cards suggest are usually good advice, whether we seem to know it or not. Even if it's something I think I know, I always consider the suggestions carefully. Tarot and Astrology are naturally intertwined when you think that each of the suits (Wands, Swords, Pentacles and Cups) also represent Fire, Air, Earth, Water, and the relationships seem more obvious. I had my numerology chart done years ago by my SIL's sister. I should probably dig that out and look at it again, if I can find it. I thought it was fascinating, and think numerology can offer insights as well. I always look to see what the new month/years numbers hold. Thanks for reminding me I haven't done that yet this month!

Should I get a rice cooker?

We use a microwave rice cooker that BF's father (full-blood-cajun-I-can't-understand-a-word-he-says-so-I-just-smile-and-nod-and-have-been-caught-doing-it) sent us. It works perfect for white rice every time. His parents make seafood gumbo, jambalya, and catfish courtboullion that make you scream! Anyway, it's a multiuse gadget too. You can serve in it, store in it in the fridge, reheat in it, etc. When we reheat, we sometimes add stuff like gravy, meat, corn, seasonings, or whatever. I'm going to try to make rice pudding with leftovers in it someday soon. I found another brand new Pampered Chef micro rice cooker at the thrift for 2 bucks! Now we're set, the thing looks like it will last for three generations! BF is teaching me to stay in the kitchen when I cook. I too, have a difficult time with things like garlic bread, toasting nuts, etc. I've begun using the timer for even one minute at a time!! It's easy to get distracted, isn't it? What did you end up doing about your rice situation?

Annie, I'm glad you like it. Tell Ashley she can have her own maybe when she gets married. LOL! To answer the questions -- heavens, no, I didn't make it. LOL! I'm not that talented. :) The beads are lampwork glass. Both beads and assembly were made by Four Tails Lampwork. It's a "one woman, three cats and a corgi" (thus the four tails) company in Georgia. I've admired her beads often, and now that she's making jewelry (instead of just the beads by themselves), it's harder than ever to resist!
