I didn't take the time to read the directions on my Bemis. Assumed you clean it like any other toilet seat, which for me means Clorox or Lysol wipes or something similar. To my disappointment I had to return the seat about 30 days later due to chipping of the finish. This revealed unsightly brown material that made the seat look especially gross if one didn't look closely enough to realize that the finish was actually chipped away. The lady at home depot seemed shocked and I thought it was defective since she said no one had ever returned one before. I got another one- same exact model and brand. A few weeks later SAME issue. I didn't want to look like an idiot returning a toilet seat again. So- I still have it. I figured it was the wipes even though I use them on my other (different brand) toilet seats. Now that you posted what the directions say then I know for sure that is what I did wrong. Quite frankly, I would never NOT sanitize my toilet seats. That's gross. I won't buy a Bemis again! There is no reason to scrub the seat on the top where people sit. I have always wiped it gently and for it to chip away just because of that is crazy. FYI- the under side does get nasty, esp. with kids so I do put some elbow grease on that side and amazingly it's perfect. So there is something about the side you sit on that has the issue! So- if u are ok with using something mild on the top where you sit, but you want to use the harsher sanitizers on the under side- you should be fine! Personally, I like to sanitize both sides so this is not the seat for me! Lol

If you notice in this thread, the word ORGANIC is thrown around often. There are different levels to being called organic. In order to be called ORGANIC, the product must be tested and certified. That being said, certified ORGANIC has at least 95% organic ingredients, etc(including processing). If a product is all organic, it would be certified 100% ORGANIC. And if made with between 70%-95% organic agricultural ingredients, it can be certified MADE WITH ORGANIC___________. Now look at the bottle of Shaklee Basic H2 ORGANIC Super Cleaning Concentrate. It is not 100% ORGANIC. Another thing to remember also, just because a product is not "certified", does not mean it is a bad product. It just means that a company has not payed for a procedure(a secret procedure at that) and will not pay for the regular "maintenance" fee. Certification is more of an advertising "hook". Certification companies, including the USDA, will even mention this as a selling point in their advertising. As for the comment that Shaklee does not want to be mentioned on the internet, well then why are they selling on the internet. If you google them, you will even find different forums, blogs,etc. where Shaklee reps. discuss(sell) the wonders of Basic H2. So Love2shop, you said, "reeree-- thank you for your help answering my question! I am wanting to go natural so I am not going to buy the clorox green works & instead am going to order the shaklee". I wished that you would have read through all of the posts, including this one. You would have been more informed.

Some of them contain more/less sodium hypochlorate. Blue cap regular(germ killer) 6% SH "Scented" Clorox bleaches 2.75% SH "Splashless" Clorox 6% SH "HE" Clorox 6-8% SH Varies % per bottle. "Coldwater" "Anti-Allergan"- No info on these yet from Clorox. "Premium" Clorox bleach- 2.45% SH I like the HE because it is easier to pour into the bleach cup. The difference with it and the splashless is that they contain surfactants but the ones in the HE version are made to be less sudsy. It also has the stronger formula(HE).

Sin, I was thinking the same. Often when people use cchlorine bleach its in a hot load since its whites, and the door won't open at the proper time to add these crystals. Not to mention they are water activated so the crystals put in the drum on wet clothing would not be good, and disolving them first would be a pain. On the other hand they have a longer shelf life. But still they would be fine for whitening but they are too weak to disinfect. I wouldn't use them for kitchen and bath either, think about it, why would anyone use chlorine in the bath and kitchen, to disinfect. I would think for anyone that just wants to use this for whitening, there's always the Clorox Gentle Care, I think it was Sparky that recommended this before, its a weaker formula but will whiten. The bottle says for TL&FL washers add 5 minutes after wash cycle starts, that's just wrong, too much contact time and the enzymes will be useless before they even get started. Does anyone remember if this was the same bleach directions Clorox used years ago before enzymes were a part of detergent?
