Bobby got laid off last Wednesday because they are trying out using inmates instead of paid employees. They have tried this before and it didn't work so we will see what happens. We took them grocery shopping and other errands today. He has a couple of job interviews this week. One is a full time position where he worked. Hopefully he will get it, he is so excited that he was in the top ten of the 50 people who applied for the job.

Dinner tonight is tilapia, steamed rice, salad and a vegetable.

My downfall was when I went to Nissan to get my oil changed and in the waiting room they had a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Could not resist and had ONE!

I didn't have a great meal but it filled the empty spot in my stomach. I opened a can of clam chowder, and had the last piece of meatloaf topped with melted cheese and a thick slice of onion on top.

My refrigerator has no more leftovers. Guess I'll have to cook something tomorrow.

I've been wondering that myself since DH is on a salad kick. I want something hot and was going to make myself some breakfast for dinner since that sounded so good in yesterday's post but then I decided maybe some tortellini. I usually make my own marinara sauce but don't feel like bothering. Then I remembered when I was buying some groceries for the food bank, I bought some Newman"s Own pasta sauce and decided to buy a couple of jars to try for myself. So, it's tortellini for me tonight. Don't know about the sauce, but we shall soon find out.

It was a beautiful day here in Paradise so I went and worked in the yard. Tonight's dinner will be baked chicken with gravy, corn and a green salad.

We had a truly fine beef stew, not the usual thick gravy. I found the recipe in Fine Cooking and Tom followed it! This is the first year we have ever cooked with wine and we are enjoying the results. Patti, I am glad the Aleve works for you, it never did for me. Strictly an Advil person.

Nita, fingers crossed for Bobby. They are so young--which works in their favor when it comes to the future. (I vaguely remember those days!) Love that tilapa. It's delicious without a lot for prepping. Enjoy!

Glenda, LOL! Who in the world can resist a KK donut? Haven't had one for a while, but it sure sounds delicious.

Georgysmom, I just love Newman's stuff. The olive oil is delicious, BTW. I've had their pasta sauce but don't remember much about it. The good thing about buying them is a percentage goes to charities--or at least it used to.

Jasdip, honey, I'm glad you had a good day, but it sounds really cold to me. Love your dinner! Guess I shouldn't tell you we'll have temps in the low 80's the rest of the week. :-( I hope our winter isn't over--we haven't had much of one so far.

Kayjones, got a couple of chairs at your table that aren't occupied? We could be there by midnight ;-) That sounds wonderful! This is such a hard time to work in the yard--especially in the northern part of Florida. But we're all in for a wonderful week with the warm temperatures. Enjoy!

Turkey Italian sausage, peppers, and spinach and arugula. Ugly day here today, lots of rain and some hail. Kept busy inside. We were supposed to go to a wine club pick up party tonight, too stormy out, so DH is just picking up the wine on his way home.

HMM you all put me to shame~~~DH will be getting brocoli/beef from a frozen bag;( I got a new 1 1/2qt crock pot so to try it out, I put veggie broth and a mix of beans/lentils/split peas~shallots and fresh garlic, I will eat it over Jasmine rice;) My DH would eat it as a side but not just that~~~so he gets what he gets;)

Nice day today DS came by to see his dad and then he asked me to go to the mall with him YEA!! I got out of the house!
DS's wanted to look at shoes, his b-day is the 10th so I bought them for him and he wanted a 100lb punching bag~~I got him that from his dad~~~~nice day;)

DH is out of town again - only one night this time, thankfully, so I had the last of our Cuban black beans tonight. Tomorrow night we're planning on going to a wine tasting and having dinner after.
