Great find, today! Paid $9.70 total for both.

Was looking for dressy shoes and these surely cannot go wrong. And they are comfortable!

How exciting, on all counts. Hopefully, the kitchen will come together soon and you can enjoy your home. Sorry to hear DS has not been feeling well, hope he's better now. He's such a cutie. You are such a patient, kind mother, and he reflects the love and security he feels. (My DGS has been sick with rotavirus - finally getting better, but it's been hard on his mom, she's 9 months pregnant.) You are certainly keeping busy, now with the adoption, too. I was adopted 61 years ago, and I've had a wonderful life. DS will make a wonderful big brother. Barb

Hello, been lurking a bit. Lots of good info here, thanks. FWIW, I agree that if the things you can't change are right and there is room in the price to do the rest ... thats a pretty good place to be. I knew the minute we walked into our current home, it would be ours, more than 20 yrs. ago. We had looked at a few dozen as I recall but the search was over when we got here. Since then we've added several investment props to the pile and since last fall have been looking for a new joint for us. Found an REO that is the only house of hundreds that can tick off every item on our list. Trying to convince the bank that they should stop holding on to it has been frustraiting, aggravating, stressfull etc. but now it is finally fun. They are offering counters in less than 24 hrs. and moving proposed closing dates up. Still not moving as much in price as they'll need to yet but it is vast improvement. Guess submitting the roofing bid and the well test did the trick :-) It kinda feels like I'm the lone bidder. Its got great bones and for us, a great loc. (acerage close to where we need to be). Its way more than we need but the lot, loc. and subdivision are pretty near perfect. Some minor damage from the eviction but I'm pricing that in and will order the full blown insp. once we have a deal. I was at the auction, I know the number ... they might get it but I'm thinkin not. There is a lot of inventory out there.

My cruise: The good, the bad, the ugly.....

Oh yes, the towel animals were one of the best parts of our cruise too! Our cabin steward, Alf, left one every night after turning down our bed and tidying up. I put them on our window sill where I had a zoo going and Alf would leave them there until there were too many to fit and then he'd take them away. I was very disappointed that Alf didn't leave a towel animal on the last night of our cruise. About an hour later, hubby pointed at one of the upper cabinets and said, "Look!" I couldn't believe that it took so long for one of us to notice it!

BLfenton, I am so sorry that I missed the chance to meet up with you while we were staying at Lonsdale Quay Hotel! I have to tell you, though, that our first evening there we had dinner at Pier 7 Restaurant, which is very close to Joey Shipyard. And, my Gourmet Burger there was by far the most delicious burger I've ever had anywhere, ever! Have you eaten there? I have all the ingredients for it copied and am now in the process of buying everything I need for us to try and recreate it. All I need still is the Truffle Aioli, the Bacon Jam and the best ground sirloin I can find here.

Big find was at Belk's!

Could NOT believe when she checked the sales price and said $4.49.

Immediately went looking for another pair, which I found, so I said " I'll take BOTH"

Went looking for swimsuits, but they aren't in yet!

Thanks Glenda! We have a new Belk's in our town and I love the sales they have. I went the day after Christmas and bought about $400 worth of new cloths and only spent $70. I was thrilled. And I like their quality. Gonna have to stop there tomorrow.

Glenda...those are really pretty shoes...I especially like the silver ones...although I usually pick gold over silver.

I wish my feet would let me wear shoes like that...Everything but big "butt ugly" shoes hurt...."S"

I hope you have as much fun on your trip as you seem to be having getting ready for it...
