Grilled Porterhouse Steak

Carved off the bone

with fried potatoes and asparagus topped with fresh grated Parmesan.

And our traditional "Strawberry" birthday dessert.

This year Strawberry Shortcake.

Yum, Ann, that all looks totally delicious to me, both dinner and breakfast! I had an enchilada craving myself after reading Suzy's blog and that's what we made for Cinco de Mayo. Just took a catnap, yawn! Marilyn Sue, you have such great feasts! Always yummy fixings. grilled steak is my meal of choice, georgysmom, but our decks are wooden, and no grills, anywhere, is the rule. mary, know your nana pudding will be delicious! Can you believe, no banana's in banana pudding. goodness gracious gadgets, saw a recipe, today for coney island hot dog sauce. I love spaghetti with meat sauce served over toasted bread spread with mayo. At home, alone :o)

Oh, trust me writersbock, I have my rough days – even yesterday I had to go to bed the rest of the day/night, but today I’m back at it as long as I can – I do push myself, which I think has served me well for years : ) Ha! Seagrass, that’s hilarious! I can just see a blue-striped squirrel making it’s way back ‘home’! Wintercat, well, sometimes I wonder if she isn’t just a bit human ; ) I always put about that much or a wee bit more tobacco in my huge pot of veggie soup, and yes, it does make a difference – isn’t it amazing how just a tiny bit of something can make a difference in a dish? DH often can’t tell, and I think some of us have somewhat better tasting abilities or are more sensitive to flavors : ) I think your chili-less soup is so appealing because it’s not the norm, and that’s often what this thread is about… we see things others make which we’ve not, and want to try it… especially if it looks good! BTW, I find there’s not a lot that can’t be improved with a bit of fresh cracked pepper : ) We had another Zaxby's salad last night. Our weather has been unseasonably warm so I often sit outside on the patio for a few moments here and there... and daydream about cooking. This is the longest I've gone without cooking, even vacations. I miss it so much. It does help to see what you all are cooking... but I get so hungry now looking at it all!

Happy Birthday to Moe! Nice meal, Ann. DH got strawberry shortcake for his birthday too, but it wasn't nearly that pretty. My shortcake was a little ummmm...well done, lol.

Ann, as wonderful as all of these photos look and I sure wouldn't pass up any aspect of that meal, I gotta say - that pic of the uncooked steak - with the peppercorns and rosemary - from the WFD thread is the most amazing.
