recouping expense of insulating crawl space

There's a crawl space under the addition to our ranch house that is close to 4' high, 540 sq. ft., cement floor, block walls, and two air vents. Heat upstairs is hot water baseboard. We live in NE Pennsylvania.

My contractor has suggested that we insulate under the floors and he's estimated the cost to be $1,500. Truthfully, the area abpve the crawl space is not cold and I personally am questioning doing this project.

What I am interested in learning: is there a way to calculate how long it might take us to recoup the cost of the insulation in heat savings? You should know that much of our heat is provided by a wood stove and the bedrooms over the crawl space are on a separate thermostat from the living area of the house - if that makes any difference.

TIA for whatever help anyone can give.
