New HE Laundry Detergent called Laundry Dropps

Interesting new detergent for the HE washing machines. Free sample available but they charge a small fee for the shipping. About 12 reviews on Amazon.com and they are very favorable for the new detergent.

The size of your dose will depend on how hard or soft your water is, how dirty your clothes are, etc. You might try the suggested dose for a medium size load. If the laundry doesn't seem clean enough, then use more the next time. I tried the Kirkland's/Costco liquid, a couple years ago, and noticed the larger dose for "he" machines than top load. That made absolutely no sense to me. I gave away the detergent. It gets good ratings for cleaning, in that popular consumer's magazine, but I won't support a company that has dosing on their label that suggests twice as much for a 'he' washer that uses a fraction of the amount of water.

I finally recieved my order of Perwoll Black Magic. I was happy with the results, my clothes came out clean and maybe even a bit darker than when they went in. I only noticed a few suds on the surface of the glass door of my front loader. Measuring is kinda difficult, the cap doesn't have increments on it - and the instructions give you the 'dose' in ml for three levels of dirt, and three levels of water softness. I have soft water - and used a cap and a half and was happy with the result. I will probably just use a capfull from now on. Seems expensive, but so is replacing faded clothes. I'll be looking for a better deal than what I got from Amazon. Kroger does special orders, so I hope i can get it from them. Oh - and the Persil link...both perwoll and Persil are made by the same company. Perwoll is their product for delicate washings...sorta like woolite is here. Hope that helps. -Noah. p.s. I did not detect any odor on my clothes after they came out of thy dryer as one poster on Amazon mentioned. It may be that the front loader rinses so well.

Congrats on the new machine. FWIW...I use about 1/3 cup of Tide HE powder for a full load in my 3-yr-old Duet. I have soft water. My machine's capacity is similar to yours, so perhaps that may be helpful. Whatever you choose, do NOT use the amount the detergent package tells you to use with their included scoop or cap measure. Measure it yourself and learn what works. Start on the low end and work up. Many, many people start out their HE machine experience with over-soaping disasters due to lack of familiarity. The stories are legion. Don't know if this is new experience for you. Just saying.

illinigirl, I use it, but my jug is named WINTREE. Costco must have re badged it for their new "green" line of products. I really like it, just don't use too much. Experiment with your machine. Start out using a smaller amt. first. I will buy again and have NO complaints. I have an HE TL BTW. Hope this helps!

I would like to hear how well these pouches work and how well the detergent can be rinsed out of the clohtes.

Their web site says that the pouches give just the right amount of cleaning...something like that. How do they know how much detergent I will need for a small lightly soiled load? How about a large load that has heavy soil. You surely don't need the same amount of detergent for both of these types of loads.

That's the same thing that bothers me about the pouches like this for the dishwasher. Not every load needs the same amount of detergent, and I hate to waste my money unnecessarily. I'll bet this costs more too. OMG! 60 loads for $25.00! I pay less than $6.00 for 60 loads now! Think I'll stick with the All Free and Clear HE.

I usually use Persil Megaperls and Miele detergent powders both of which cannot be considered cheap, but I am only using teaspoons to tablespoons full and each purchase lasts for about 19 months. I still want to hear how this detergent cleans and most of all how well it rinses out.

They are based in Philly, and I recently read an article about them. I have seen them for sale at Target a couple of month ago, though I don't recall an "HE" symbol on the package at that time.

Wal-Mart has them for sale for less but it looks like they have them online only.. I think they even have free shipping.

The only thing I wouldn't like about these is that I adjust the amount of detergent I use based on the load size. If you always do a full load it would be OK. Some things, like hand-wash items, only fill the washer 25% to 50%. I would think that the "dropps" would have too much soap for such a small load.
