Thong lapper was giving us too much to see!

Past 3 classes, a elder male lapper has been giving us old ladies too much of an eyefull.

Now it might be another story if he was young and a hunk, but NOT!

They have to have two lap lanes open during our water aerobics classes and when lappers get out they walk over to lifeguard, whose station is in front of us gals, and he signs out in a book she keeps.

Way too much to see and left absolutely nothing to our imagination!

He was politely told by powers that be, he should dress more appropriately.

We shall see tomorrow, if he comes, what his attire will be!

Yuck. I would have hated to be the person who had to tell him to dress more appropriately. I wonder if he responded in any way, and like you, wonder if he will even come back.

Maybe if you all stood there pointed at him and laughed or said OH YUK in unison, he would be shamed into something more appropriate. It's amazing how some people look in the mirror and see what they want to see instead of what is really there! In his mind, he's probably a hunk.

A note about sugar ratio and percent: To say a 1:4 sugar:water mix is 20% sugar is incorrect; the sugar is in dry, granulated form and the water is (obviously) liquid. The sugar industry expresses sugar concentration as percent sugar by weight (mass for you scientists) also known as Brix; where one Brix is equivalent to 1 gram sugar dissolved in a 100 gram sugar solution. This is the number a sugar refractometer will give you. A cup of sugar weighs 200 grams. A cup of water weighs 237 grams. A 1:4 sugar mix is 200 grams sugar + 948 grams water = 1148 grams total. Percent sugar by weight or Brix is: 200g / 1148g x 100 = 17% (rounded to the nearest percent). You 1:4 purists are only offering half the sugar concentration found in natural nectar preferred by Hummers! So, get over it already... By the same method: A 1:3 sugar mix is 200g / 911g x 100 = 22% by weight A 1:2 sugar mix is 200g / 674g x 100 = 30% by weight A 1:1 sugar mix is 200g / 437g x 100 = 46% by weight Benjamin F Tucker was among the first to mass-feed hummers in the 1930s and '40s. He used laboratory glassware to make his feeders (no Perky-Pet or Droll Yankees back then). His work was described in the December 1946 Popular Mechanics article: "Hummingbird Cafeteria". The lead photo shows 22 of his 'beaker feeders' lined up on wood shelves. A quote from page 125: "If you supply artificial nectar - half water and half sugar - he'll stay long after blooming time." Considering that it's only my wife and I and we don't do that many washing loads, we're very satisfied so far that the LG will meet our needs and expectations (won't know how it holds up until later). With the different cycles available and the ability to modify them to a reasonable extent, we can always pretty much match water level to something that works well on any load we would wash. On the cycles that have a high default fill we will just add enough clothes to match. No more loads than we do, the water usage is not that important to us, and we prefer the choice of using a cycle (and/or the water plus selection) that will use enough water for great results, but use very little water when it's appropriate. On the water temps, we're perfectly satisfied as well. Machine cold (not tap cold which is about 62 deg right now) 80-82 deg is fine, well above detergent performance level. Warm around 102 deg tested after fill with clothes) is fine also, and having 120-124 deg hot water available on hot without using the heater (still haven't tested on sanitize or bright whites with heater available) seems unexpectedly good on an HE washer with a hot water heater setting of 135 deg. Don't know what the future holds, but everything considered, at this point we couldn't be more pleased with both washer and dryer (particularly after reading many HE experiences folks have had). It definitely pays to learn the 'ways of operation' of your particular machine. I'm not sure though, after observing a few wash cycles, our washer even knows what it's doing half the time... but it seems to work out well. Thanks... Quinn

Thanks for all of the input. You're all raising issues that I'm having trouble resolving. The problem is, we have bought our retirement home, and haven't lived it in it long, so not sure how it will all play out. In fact, I am NOT living there -- just Husband and the dog are in SC, and I'm still in a small apartment back in Ohio waiting to retire in August. It is a long, narrow kitchen, 12x33, which will be partially open to the dining room. There is room on the other side of the peninsula, as we just have a small seating/sunroom area, so we can end the kitchen where we want, and if I don't do these cabs, I might expend the area inside the U by another foot. Leela, I knew I would have to bend over to get stuff, but I didn't think about having to move the chairs, too. Good point! And rehelen, the inability to reach across to clean is another point that is pushing me away. Although, Kam, you are right -- I envisioned wrapping gifts and cutting out sewing projects on the expanse. mpagmom, I LOVE your solution, and although it wouldn't work with a peninsula, I am doing something on a smaller scale on the island -- I think your kitchen was my "inspiration" for that! homebuyer, I hope to post plans and pics soon, but I am kind of twixt and between now and don't have access to everything I need, so still in the "gathering ideas" and pondering them stage. I think I am leaning against them at this point -- the "goal" would be to get rid of the "stuff" instead of building more places to store it! however, with only a 1 car garage, and no basement, we are a bit storage challenged. I'm also getting rid of the china cabinet in the dining room, so I need to store that stuff (but I am gaining cabinet, wet bar, and pantry space). However, if anyone really thinks the cabinets are a great idea and would be an asset, I'd like to know before I make an irrevocable decision.

I'm SM and BM. After 13 or 14, I think a girl should be able to choose her own underwear. Although thongs can cause more infections than regular cotton panties; nylon panties are also more prone to causing infections. Let her know she will need to keep herself extra clean and not to wear them more than one day. (duh?) Make sure they are cotton and don't say "property of" or anything like that ;) There are "trashy/slutty" bikini panties too. I wear thong underwear. I started in highschool. When you have a booty like mine it gets real old picking out wedgies. I told my mom it's a lot more comfortable to just have a tiny bit of material there than a big wad. Although she thinks they're awful she could understand. And, BTW, my DH likes those low, full front/back "short" style panties that kind of ride up the bottom of my cheeks. I think they are REALLY uncomfortable for everyday use. Just goes to show, not all guys prefer thongs, and it's the model of pantie that is sexy, not the make (just 'cause it's a Chevy doesn't mean it's a Corvette). Panties are cheap. If you don't buy them for her, she'll probably get them somewhere else and hide them. "Taken out of counseling..." By whom? Of course she thinks she can take care of herself... she's a teenager!! I agree that the blocks can add up, but I don't think the panties are a full block. No counseling, needs boys to define herself, incidence of rape, those are full blocks. Maybe a block and a half each. Panties and makeup are but small chips in comparison. (was this a "virgin" rape, were they dating... who defined this as rape...) I hate to ask those questions, having sex with a 13 year old is wrong, but exactly what happened will have a big difference on how it is perceived by her. For instance, if it's a state-defined rape due to age difference but she was willing.... or if it was a forcible rape by an acquaintance/family member/boyfriend... or if it was willing but the parents are unable to accept that so she lied... In the ladies locker room, on a wall mirror, has been a notice, forever, reminding everyone to be modest!

We had some, not us water gals, that parade around in the nude from shower to locker, and during school breaks, there are lots of youngsters around.

I mentioned at the front desk, today, as I was using the machines, if they heard about our "thong man" and the two gals, immediately chimmed in that powers that be had a discussion with him.

Not a sight to see, when in the water he mooned you, when he'd do his flips to turn around and continue his laps. ewwwwwwww

Was it really a thong or a too small speedo? Neither would look good on an old or fat guy, but a speedo is acceptable and a thong usually isn't.

You all need to yell at the same time "My eyes, my eyes" and cover your faces :-)

Guess I'm the only one who feels kind of bad for him! If he's elderly, there's a chance he isn't really quite aware of how much he is exposed. Or maybe it's more comfortable to him and he doesn't really care what people think.

It's just a butt. No worse than the tons of cellulite, flabby skin, stretch marks, varicose veins and other unsightly physical attributes on display at a public pool. Not many people have perfect bodies. I know I wouldn't like if someone went "Ewww!" as I walked by!

I'm also surprised that nudity is frowned upon in a locker room, especially at a pool.

When there are young children, in a locker room, YES, being a little discreet is appreciated. Mothers of the children appreciate as well.

There's a time and place for everything and certainly not at a YMCA.

This post has made me laugh so hard! I know if I was a child, I sure wouldn't want to see a preview of what I was going to look like in 50-60 years. It'd scare the bejeezus out of me! (Just like it does now if I look in a full-length mirror!!)

Maybe he is giggling at a bunch of 'elder' ladies in their swimsuits.
He may just figure he is covered up so what's the problem.
Perhaps staff should have told him his attire wasn't acceptable the first day.

when i took my mother to our y, we'd have a few ladies parade by in their eve state,and know my dgd i was watching got an eyeful...thanks be she was only 2 at the time...lol...as for the elder man...wonder if he might be from europe? they're not as restrictive in swimwear...

That's what our water instructor said, maybe he's from Europe. And she thought the attire was not the place to be wearing such.

Still it is the Y. Family oriented!

Staff doesn't know until they are notified and then they followup and they make the decision which they did. There were 25 ladies those days and obviously a few thought it appropriate enough to report.

Reminds me of a story about a 4-year-old lad going into a ladies' locker room, with a number running and squealing as they covered up ...

Ha, ha! You all should have taken a picture of his behind and posted a picture so he could see his not so handsome beehind! LOL...maybe that would make him want to cover up...
When we went on vacation to the beach several years back you would not BELIEVE the speedos on old men!!! YUCK!!! Lawdy!!! Someone needs to tell these guys that things shrink with old age...and I ain't talking just about their speedos either. ack!!! baaarrrfff!!
