Oops... maybe too much roundup help!!!!
Comments (3)You are mistaken about the Round Up. It does not harm soil. It certainly would not cause any harm a year later. Round Up has to be taken in by the plants foliage to do harm. What you are describing is typical Type II large flowered hybrid Clematis growth or lack there of. Cut back anything that looks bad and keep it fertilized (gently with organics) and watered. If you planted it deeper when you planted it that will help it outgrow this problem. If it grows one long scraggly vine keep pinching it back to promote more....See MoreOops...think I saw a Cuban Tree Frog....
Comments (14)I agree..snakes in the yard are GOOD things! I love it when I spot some of my black racers moving around, but they are getting more and more shy, what with two obnoxious dachshunds who think the yard should be theirs alone. Lest anyone be confused, treefrogs are NOT all bad. In fact, they used to be WONDERFUL to have around. It's just the exotic CUBAN treefrogs that are bad for the environment. And on that same note, for those who don't know, the habit the media has of calling the exotic and toxic Marine Toads "bufos," is a very bad one. All of our very beneficial native toads are also "bufos," since "bufo" is the genus name for over 150 different toads. Bufo terrestris is our very valuable southern toad. But bufo marinus is the bad guy. The less confusing way to refer to these exotic toads is as Giant Toads, Marine Toads or Cane Toads. Please don't go killing all bufos. Comments (6)How about you throw a little bit of dirt on top of them right where they are and leave the bin open so they can get some light??? ;-) The head's still not doing real great! If I had any other job I'd be back to work, but I'm still having some trouble getting my right leg to do what I want it to, and if I'm having trouble with balance here on the ground, it's probably not gonna work too well trying to walk with a moving floor---so here I sit! And the doctor says a second concussion could be catastrophic, so I can't take that chance. I'm currently in the process of trying to get appointments with an ENT and a neurologist for additional diagnosis of the dizziness and proprioception problems, and, while I've used up all the "allowable" sessions for PT on my neck (it still hurts!), I start PT on Tuesday for the balance problem. Whoever woulda thunk getting hit in the head would be this complicated! Not me! About your potatoes, if you don't have a spot in a compost pile where you can plant them, I'd still break off the longest shoots and put them out now if you have a place with thawed soil to do it, and if you can cover them with a nice, thick layer of compost--or leaves or something else as Margaret suggested. I think it would take some awfully cold weather to do them in at this point, and if it works it would give them a real good head start. Let us know what you do with them, Skybird P.S. Back when I was even poorer than I am now, I've eaten potatoes that looked worse than yours! As long as they weren't green!...See More(PICTURES) oops... think maybe I made a big $$$$ mistake.
Comments (30)I agree with everyone else. It is beautiful and the plank top adds so much character to it. Lighting does make a huge difference. I always find the lighting in stores to be so misleading--esp. when I was remodeling my kitchen, but at least then we could take a sample door home. I like it so much better than a bombe chest. It looks like a unique piece anyway, not part of a "collection." Be sure to show us the pics in your space....See MoreOkiedawn OK Zone 7
