my thought is the laminate is a little too slick to hold the machine in place. Could you try putting some non slip type cushion under? Even the thicker rubber pad used as laminate pad may work, or the non slip padding used under area rugs. It would be a simple fix if it works.

I'm a diehard Miele fan, but their current smallest washer (W1113) is now a 115V machine, so I'm somewhat skeptical about liking it. I have an older 220V model W1918, which I still think is one of the best machines Miele ever produced. My in-laws have a Bosch Axxis laundry pair that they've been very pleased with. The Bosch machines are certainly less expensive than those from Miele, and they still operate on 220V, so you might want to consider those. As I recall, a complete wash program on the Bosch Axxis is somewhat shorter than the default extended wash on my Miele W1918. I've heard the door gasket on the Bosch Axxis washer is prone to getting moldy if the machine door is kept closed between uses. I don't have any first hand knowledge of this. My in-laws (and I) always leave the washer door ajar when not in use, but it's something you might want to keep in mind. I haven't heard of any mold problems with Miele door gaskets, even when the doors are kept latched.

Where is the washer located? What is below it? I mean.... is there a basement or crawl space below? If so, try putting a pole from the basement (or crawlspace) floor to the floor joists under the washer. What your washer is sitting on must be very solid. Floor joists that span 12 to 14 feet can have a lot of bounce in them. Once the floor joists are moving it exaggerates the vibration of the washer. It's not your flooring material choice in any way shape or form. Don't cut your flooring. Whoever told you that is an idiot. This is a STRUCTURAL issue. I don't mean structural FAULT... there's nothing wrong with your house except some architect that doesn't have a laundry area on regular flooring and didn't design the proper support into it. This is normal. You need to take the bounce out of the floor STRUCTURE, not the floor covering.

Well, blow me down, I just checked and there IS a bubble thing only on the washer door!!!! Who knew?!!! (ok, so you did!!! :) I think I may be the only one in the world who doesn't use a basket to unload the dryer. I pile it up in my arms and then shot put it onto the counter (which is why I'm thinking having the counter closer works better than the sink, for me. Actually, if I can get around the open dryer door, it's closer to get to the counter from the dryer if it's on the right side too. If not, I'll use a nifty cart that I learned about on here. I don't use a basket because I have a bad back and don't want to bend down to pick it up.. the w/d will be as high as possible. Now I just need to make sure if the dryer is moved to the right that it isn't too far for venting. The vent is going to be coming out of the top left of the closet (it can get through the left side of the laundry room because there is a barn door covering that whole wall. So close but yet so far!!!
