Never have never will watch any "reality" shows. To me they're just a waste of time. Just read in today's Washington Post that CBS will be doing a new show called "Dancing On The Stars" which will take place in Hollywood cemetery featuring "moderately famous and sort of well known" people. How stupid can they get! As for BP and the rest, quite frankly I don't care about them and am fed up with all the publicity they get. Just feeds their over sized egos IMHO.

I don't think age has anything to do with it, but I do think that they find traditional furniture boring. I also think that part of the concept is to design something for Ellen specifically, and traditional is not her style. I also predicted correctly which two would be eliminated, but that's a good thing, I think. There are very few shows that feature cutting-edge contemporary, probably because most of the shows are made on the East Coast (not counting Canadian shows), and Ellen's show is made in California. However, some of the best new designers are from the East Coast (two good contestants were from Providence (RISD students or graduates), but it seems that they must move to the West coast to further their careers. That may be because the high end furniture industry is huge in Los Angeles, which that's why I moved here. I know quite a few furniture designers who graduated from RISD and moved to Los Angeles. I do find, however, that cutting edge designs sell better in New York than in L.A., from my own experience.
