if she's using I75 that's usually very clear and lots of places to get off...right now in detroit, it's very cold but have had sun break thru and the snow we had overnight was more a dusting and the roads were dry...

When our daughter was in college she flew out to California from Indiana and drove back with a college friend. I told them to be very aware of their surroundings at all times. They were going to camp at night and I said "No". Go to a hotel and mom will foot the bill.. We can never stop worrying about our youngsters...

She's 24. It's OK for you to worry, but you really shouldn't impose it on her. That's all about you, and nothing to do with her. Do you want to question her competence?

She's survived this long in the world, she's an adult, and is entitled to make her own decisions and do what she wishes.

My daughter had a job interview today but it was snowing, so I offered to drive her there myself. I was so worried about her driving to an unfamiliar location in bad weather.

No matter the age, a mother worries and always will I think, because with love comes worry. My daughter is an adult, a grandmother, but I still worry about her. If I didn't love her, then I wouldn't worry about her.

i worry about my one dd (she's 37) but she's a social worker and some of her pg ladies are in not so nice areas...we bought her a gps in 08 for christmas.
she's a very good driver though..the only one of the kids who learned to drive while we lived in ca...and if that doesn't make you a good driver, nothing will, lol...

I am also a worrier, and my sons are older. We never stop worrying, do we. And I haven't always been able to hide it. When DS2 was 22, he decided to pay us a visit here on the CA central coast, driving up from Tucson AZ. On the day after he was supposed to arrive, and didn't, I called the state police and gave them his license number. Some hours later his car was spotted outside a diner in Barstow, and he was inside yucking it up with some friends. The trooper walked over, asked him if he was John Doe, Sable's son, and when he replied yes, the trooper said, "Call your mother."

A few years later he bought a pickup truck and, wanting to try a good road trip with it, again decided to visit us. But now he had a girlfriend in Tucson and he was crazy about her. I knew that he'd be okay driving up, but worried that he'd break speed limits going back to her. So I bought her a one-way plane ticket to come up two days later so that they could drive back together. It was a good investment. Now they're married, and have a son!

I'm sure that your daughter will be fine. I spent 3 years in the UP and drove in the winter constantly, sometimes alone. The roads are kept pretty clear and pretty well-patrolled, also.

She made it safe and sound after driving 8.5 hours. Now she just has to get home safe on Sunday!!

I think all mothers worry about their children. When any or mine fly I keep checking flight status until they have reached their destination
