I'm nervous about getting e-mail after today...

I got an e-mail from my best friend, her daughter had a miscarriage, then I got one from my sister telling me she spoke to our other sister and her 50ish year old stepdaughter who has been missing might be the woman found in Colo who's arms had been removed and she had been put in a barrel and burned....we're still waiting dna results. The police came to get dna from my brother-in-law to check for a match.

Don't get discouraged!! My goodness, I am quite sure that I will not have any sprouts until the middle of NEXT month! I'm not going to worry about that until about the last week of April... if I have no sprouts by then, anyway. Yesterday, in the northern Illinois area, we had a fluke warm up. Your seeds are very aware of this. If you did see a lot of green, next week you'd all be worried about the cold. Stop your darn worrying and have a bit of faith. Mother Nature is not going to fail you. She's pretty smart, she knows what to do and most importantly when to do it! Here is a link that might be useful: Check out the database for zone 5

Got Hosta June, Mail Order through e-bay today

EAH, if you plan on getting MORE hosta, might as well spring for the big bag of MiracleGro potting mix WITHOUT the moisture control in it. That will rot your hosta, who like good water but also like good drainage. I get a pot thats a nice size for the roots, and build a cone of potting mix in the center of it high up to the top of the pot. I then drape the roots like a wet mop around the sides of the cone, push down to seat the crown on top of the cone, and begin covering the roots with more mix. Make sure all the roots are covered, but the crown is not buried. Water gently and let the pot drain. Where needed top it back up with potting mix, and water again. Set the plant in the shade for a couple of days to get over the shock. It is highly recommended by Ken Adrian that you use some low tack masking tape (I use the blue stuff) to gather the petioles of the hosta together and wrap with the tape. This keeps them from flopping over, because once they flop, they will not stand up straight again. Also, if a leaf is torn, or a petiole/stem is damaged, do not break it off, but leave it be. It is doing its job unless it is brown and dead. June is a strong grower, so she will probably perk right up for you. So pleased that you have become enamored of the hosta. That's why I suggested getting BIG BAG of MiracleGro. I bet you cannot stop with JUST ONE hosta! :) (And I'm 2 miles south of I-10 in Mobile, lack about 20 miles being as far south as Houston is according to latitude. And I am familiar with the Houston weather. Good luck and happy growing.

I'm still having problems with my Live Mail. Nothing has seemed to help. Can anyone suggest a good easy address to use ,one that you can easily forward things. I live with my son and often get personal emails that involve him and like to send them on to him. Also want to be able to attach things, change size and color of script, etc. I have never tried hot mail or gmail. I do have a yahoo address but there is a lot of stuff going into it, like free cyle, full circle and re-use it. I also use Windows XP and do like Outlook Express. Any suggestions? ivamae

This is terrible news.

As much as I pray it's not someone in your family, I do hope they can process the results quickly so you can know either way. Not knowing is horrible. I've been through this in the early '80s when my cousin was murdered. Getting 'the phonecall' from family while they were waiting for confirmation of clothing found was terrible.
God bless all of you, my prayers too for strength through out this whole event.

Thanks everyone, my BIL is in complete denial and doesn't want to even discuss this with family. His daughter had many problems, was engaged to a guy in prison but when he got out he left her. She has kids and grandkids from her first marriage. My BIL is 25 years older than my sister so his kids were grown and moved away when they got married. I just hope they hear something soon to get this resolved. His health isn't the best and the stress isn't helping.

No wonder you're nervous about e-mail...I would be too. Can't imagine the horror of hearing news your DS & BIL got!

Praying for strength for your BIL and DS as she deals with trying to help him face what could become reality. He will need huge amounts of support & understanding during the long wait for result of DNA test.
