I agree, geogirl. Yes, the dolls look cute nail-polished and saves you from buying Swimsuit Barbie. But in what world is an unclothed Barbie a problem that needs a solution? I'm not even going to call it "naked" as it's a chunk of plastic with no features that resemble a real human. It boggles the mind that an adult can look at Barbie between outfit changes and feel what, offended? disgusted? concerned? enough to take up the nail polish and paint her. For 50 years, Barbie has been in millions of girls' homes, and I'm quite sure they did not learn immodesty by not putting Barbie into proper attire between play dates. I can see not liking the body image Barbie represents and refusing to buy it. That's probably a better solution. But another absurdity is that nail polish only covers featureless plastic with a layer of color. She's still naked, she's just purpley or glittery naked. Isn't that how one of Hugh Hefner's Playboy girlfriends got her start? Jumped out of his birthday cake painted gold? I know they make gold nail polish. Don't go giving those girls ideas!

We are putting in a new island with a toe kick all the way around, so I plan to put feet on the corners. I planned to buy premade feet from a hardware store woodwork section and stain it to match, but haven't found them so may have the local woodworking shop make 4 feet for me. I had planned on round feet, notched to fit on the corners. Now that I'm thinking of cleaning, I think I'd prefer a rounded corner foot, but square on the sides to avoid a hidden curve area to collect dust. I'm glad this post made me consider it. I don't think I'll have feet on the room perimeter cabinets. If I did, it would just be on the end cabinets, not at each appliance. That makes it look a little overdone in my opinion... though I prefer simpler rooms in general.

We chose the connoisseurian 48" self cleaning, duel fuel. Our understanding is that the rack is a little further from the broiler element and the oven is a wee bit taller to accommodate the broiler function. I've seen the culinarian and it also had the same rolling racks I thought. I have simmer on mine and it's amazing. Nothing scorches on the bottom, I simmered a small pot of cinnamon sticks for a party, no issues. I'm on the east coast . No issues getting service so far (to level the unit, and to fix a door seal)
