Goodbye Miele W4842, Hello Electrolux Wave Touch
Comments (22)Larsi, today we went to set up return for Electrolux washer that was having problems. The guy at appliance who sold it to us said that we needed to call Electrolux, tell them the prob and ask for a R.C.M number, then call him with it and he will order me another one, so that they can get refunded from Electrolux. Electrolux wanted to send out a service repair. I told them that i didn't trust this machine due to the rubbing and had called the authorized repair man, told him the prob and he said he would ask for a new one, as this could be seal or tub or both. He said he wouldnt keep one that was bad from day one. So after Electrolux figured out i wasnt going the repair route, they told me to call the store and tell them they had a seven day return policy. Told her it was delevered last thurs.and that store was passing buck to them. Electrolux got the store on the phone, told them i said no repair and then electrolux said the 7 day return policy for a electrolux did not start until unit was delivered, not from purchase date! Store said it would get with their RCM people and that electrolux may give them some credit for it. I am not sure they will get full credit. Anyway, i should hear from store tomorrow to tell me that they have ordered me another set as the dryer was dammaged and they did not check it over before delivery. I don't think that it was my place to have to do all the leg work. It should have been store, but salseman said if i called that it would carry more weight. I think that he knew that i would be told to have it repaired and he just didn't want to tell us that. I will rest easier when they call tomorrow with a time line of when new set is in. They will reverse the dryer door as they didn't do it with this one even though i asked for it, but my DH was going to do it anyway. Fingers crossed i get a good set, no scratches, dents, or detergent tray that does not hang on the front corner which this one does. THEN, i will be in laundry heaven!!!!...See MoreMiele for less $$ than Electrolux or Samsung?
Comments (13)mihai914, Miele just started a promo for May (in Canada) for a free 10 year warranty on any appliance purchased. I'm considering a new dishwasher .... :) My machines are installed in my basement laundry room which has tile over concrete. I find them quite quiet but my install makes a big difference. I have a friend who has them installed in a second floor laundry and they are slightly noisier. They are custom home builders though and they reinforce the floors knowing Miele's are going in there. I don't find them bad. LG/Samsung WILL be quieter. While Miele has gotten much better with their newer suspension system it still isn't the same as the VRT in Samsung or TrueBalance Anti-Vibration System in LG. Like me, you should do a pro/con list and decide what is most important to you. I had narrowed it down to the LG WM3885 vs Miele. The LG was larger with more features like steam in the washer and dryer. I really did like the LG - I loved its lights and "whistles". In the end, I went with Miele - giving up larger capacity and whistles for, what I hope, will be a superior wash and durability. So far I'm very pleased - leaps ahead of my last machines. Of course I can't say how happy I would have been with the LG as I've never owned one. My parents have new entry level LGs and they are very happy with them. When they saw my Mieles for the first time, my mother commented how "solid" they looked. She said they looked like quality appliances (FWIW). My sales guy has been to Germany to see Miele manufacturing first hand and he told me, "no one builds them like Miele". He said if they had a Miele machine opened up in the store and a competitors - people would be able to see what they are paying for (it's all under the hood as he called it). The components are superior to what the others are using (ie. cast iron cradle vs. concrete)....See MoreCompact Miele vs. Bosch vs. AEG
Comments (4)I've had that Bosch and liked it a lot. But no delay start on the one I had. I would have gone with it again but I needed a vented dryer and I was told bosch was discontinuing theirs at the end of this year. Went with the Miele 3035 (same as 3033 but SS) and love it. Delay start is terrific. They have cold setting and no heat.its super adjustable. I agree on the price but having spent it feel it was worth every penny....See MoreWasher and dryer: Deciding betw Electrolux, Bosch & Samsung
Comments (17)I have the Electrolux and love it! The IQ does have the steam. I bought the Wave Touch 5 months ago and can honestly say, it is the best on the market. Electrolux really stands behind there product. They know they have the best machines, thats why they don't discount them. The new model of the Wave touch is out now and has double the cycles that the 2009 model has. especially more steam cycles. Its model # EWFLS70J also, the washer is now 5.1 instead of 4.7. If you can afford the Wave Touch, you will never regret buying it, trust me. These machines actually makes doing laundry fun. Especially the fact that you can put the light on while the machine is running and the Fast Wash cycle is only 15 min now on the new model.. amazing!!! go buy it! you wont be sorry you did...See Moresaaraah
