Oh my gosh, that was what I was going to answer! No, I haven't had it but I want it done under my chin also!

I lost a lot of weight but the "fat" under my chin won't budge, (it's not loose skin, just fat) even though I lost weight in my face.

Do you mind sharing with me what it cost? And please check back after your surgery.

Is it an out-patient procedure?

You have the same issue I have. It is done under local and takes about an hour. I dont know what the cost is as this is a complimentary procedure, but I suspect it costs anywhere between one and two thousand dollars. I need to wear a compression garment for a while. I am nervous but also excited.

A friend of mine had it done in a doctor's office years ago. She was extremely happy with the results. I don't know any of the details except that she had it done on a Friday after work and was fine on Monday.

And if anyone else is reading this, why won't the fat go away in the neck area when we lose weight in the face and everywhere else? I've never had this problem until recently. I guess I just sagging. :)

I lost 40 pounds in almost two years, and not an ounce came off my neck. Grrrr.

I had won a free laser treatment but it didnt fix my problem, in my opinion, it made it a little worse so I was offered this procedure I guess to shut me up...lol.

I had it done when I had my upper eye lids/face lift done in June. Very little there, but why not - he was already in the area. ;D I didn't have any problems from mine. One tiny stitch. But I know someone else who had it done and she had tiny lumps afterward. Good doctor = good outcome. Good luck.

Thanks allison. Are those lumps permanent? Were they noticeable or just to the touch? I am to wear a compression garment, not sure for how long, did you wear one?

Yes, the tiny lumps were still there after 6 months, better but still there and they were noticeable. I did not have any. That was an area that I had some swelling, on one side, but was told it was from sleeping on that side and expected. It seems to be gone now - 4 months after surgery.

I did not have to wear a compression garment, but that depends on the doctor. Same goes with cold compresses.

I've just had lipo on my thighs, NEVER again, it was so painful, and to this day (10 years ago) if someone accidentally hits me there, it hurts, like a really bad bruise. And, the recovery was really painful also. Plus, if you gain weight like I did (30 lbs.) it goes other places, like my tummy, which use to be FLAT as a board.

I'm sure it's different under the chin, but, just letting anyone who care, know about the thighs. OUCH!

Well is it done. Was not as bad as I thought. The first freezing hurt a bid but after that no pain. The suction part felt like a gentle pulling feeling. I now have to wear a compression garment 24/7 until I see her next week. Hope it turns out well.

I am doing ok, I am wearing a compression garment. I suprised the painters yesterday when I opened the door with this thing on. I took a peak under there, it is pretty purple looking but nice and flat, no bumps so far and not painfull to touch anymore. It gets pretty itchy though, but I guess that is part of the healing process. Thanks for asking:)

I didn't have bruising under my chin at all, but then I don't think he was there very long. Glad it's going well.

I am happy. Definately see improvement. I didnt have a lot of fat there to begin with. Still healing, it hasnt been even 3 months, they say the results arent final until 6 months or even up to a year. Still some swelling, I was nervous about the skin not retracting at my age but it is. I do have one lump which is fairly common to have in this area after lipo. I am told with massage and time it will resolve. I would do it again. Are you considering it?

Massaging actually doesn't make a difference, and according to some experts can do more harm than good.

It's been 7 months for me and I am so pleased with my results. My left ear is almost back to normal too - taken twice as long as right - so I can finally sleep on it again.

My ps told me to massage so I guess I need to follow his instructions but I did read on line where many suggest it also. Same as the compression garment, some ps want you to wear compression garments, some dont.

What is wrong with your left ear?
