Recipes for Sidedishes - Week 3 January 2013

We truly like rice as a sidedish and especially this recipe.

LubyâÂÂs Holiday Rice

1 cup rice
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup finely diced carrots
1/3 cup finely diced green bell pepper
1/3 cup finely chopped celery
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup sliced mushrooms
1 t seasoned salt
1/2 t garlic powder

Cook rice. While rice is cooking, melt butter in small skillet; add veggies and cook until tender. Add to cooked rice. Add salt and garlic powder. Mix well.
