They started making noises about this issue a while back...it's the same old s**t. They (FB) are relentless. The people that I think really need to be concerned are photographers, as FB seems to think that they own anything that gets posted. But if you just use reasonable caution (which is why teenagers are hopeless in this situation) you should be just fine. Sharing Dendropress's photos of cones won't likely get us into too much trouble!

I just recently read an article on that and how it was set default to share which is just ridiculous. I highly recommend this site for anyone using facebook Get Protected I copied this info from one of the other forums I am on "NEW PRIVACY setting called "Instant Personalization" that shares data with non-Facebook websites and it is automatically set to "Enable." Go to Account >Privacy Settings > Applications and Websites >Instant Personalization > Edit Settings, and un-check "Enable". BTW if your friends don't do this, they will be sharing information about you." The New Facebook Profile Layout Analysis, Critique and User Discussion check the comments section below the article for more info The New Facebook Profile: What U Need To Know according to some of the latest articles today was the date that it was to be changed on all facebook pages. I personally stay away from all things facebook

Huge business this data-mining. The funny thing is I read about it in a novel, I think either Dean Koontz or David Baldacci, most likely the latter but I can't be for sure. These people, if they wish, can destroy not only your credit, but your life itself....implenting you into many illegal enterprises.....kiddo porn, etc. that you have had nothing to do with, but when they can access your computer info they can inject whatever they want to implicate you. Very scary stuff and enough to make you want to escape to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Of course at that point they may make you into the new 'unibomber' and screw up that persona. Okay, most of this is total paranoia.....the likelihood it could happen to you, as a normal citizen is slight....but it could happen. This is a crazy age we live in. I really think the old days were better and I suppose every generation says that....but the days of yore were simpler and I really sometimes wish we never had computers, cell phones, etc. We need more people-to-people contact. Enough said. Duane

I'm on FB but don't EVER post any personal pictures or information there, or on any other sites. Once you put it out there it's out there forever. It's bad enough that crooks can gain access to personal information. I don't intend to give them a helping hand.
