What (or who) comforts you? Long vent...

What do you do when you could use a little TLC? I'm the caretaker in my family. When DH has a rough day, he comes home to a nice, hot, home cooked meal and a sympathetic ear. When my sis is having a tough time, I'm the shoulder to cry on. My best friend lives across the street, but she's going though her own drama right now - the last thing she needs is to listen to me being a crybaby. My mom is great in a crisis, but she would roll her eyes and tell me to get over myself about this silly stuff.

I'm having one of those weeks. Nothing major, just life's little annoyances happening all at once.

Stress at work having recently switched to a higher profile position after toiling away, anonymously, on the graveyard shift for years.

Minor traffic accident (DH backed into a parking meter, no biggie I have good insurance) followed a few days later by me getting a flat tire ... on the Bay Bridge ... in the dark ... at 5:45am ... 15 minutes before I'm due at work. So now I'm late to this terrific new job where everybody is watching my every move.

Identity theft. The irregular activity on my ATM card was quickly caught by the bank. They notified me right away and deactivated the card. The crooks got away with less than $5 but now I have the hassle of going into the bank if I need cash while I wait for a new card. Plus, I'll need to call around (and spend hours on hold no doubt) to notify companies such as Netflix, my internet provider and others that my debit card number has changed.

The worst thing? My blender died on Friday. I ordered another online (probably what prompted the identity theft) and my back-up blender quit on Sunday! I've gotten hooked on green smoothies in the morning - a better energy boost than coffee, with fiber benefits appreciated by that old lady who lives in my house.

Usually I bounce back after long walk, or a cathartic cry in a nice bubble bath. I've been feeling on the verge of tears for several days but I can't even work up a good cry this time for some reason. Probably because it's just a few minor inconveniences, while there are people who have actual hardships to worry about.

Tips? What do you nurturers do when YOU'RE the one in need of a hug?
