I don't often drink coffee at night but when I do it's because I want the caffeine! I'd offer both.

Yes. I'm always amazed at the number of people who drink regular coffee after dinner. If it's family, I just make one pot of decaf and don't tell.

I worked in an upscale French restaurant in my late 20s. I was surprised to learn the chef never served anyone anything but decaf. We made strong French roast decaf in two differently trimmed pots so that it looked like we served both but in truth, no one got the real thing, just decaf all around.

I have minimal food service experience so perhaps this is common, I don't know!

Can't remember the last time I drank decaf. If a restaurant did that to me, I'd probably put them low on my list as having bad coffee.

I get up in the middle of the night and have a cup of coffee, then go back to bed a sleep like a baby... go figure.

As Linda says folk drink one or the other, and are religious about it so you best make both.....oh and a pot of tea!

I never drink decaf either. I tried it for a while, trying to get the blood pressure/gastric reflux thing under control, but it didn't seem to make a difference in either, so I went back to regular.

Like Nancy, I can drink a cup of coffee at midnight and sleep like a log until 5 am. I've always slept about 5 hours a night and coffee makes no difference in that routine at all.

So, I'd vote for both, I'd want regular coffee and not decaf. I don't like wine in general and I especially dislike wine with sweets, so I'd be a coffee drinker at your party!

Maybe it's just a California thing, but I'm always surprised by the number of people who drink hot tea after a nice supper/dinner. So, I'm with Linda with that recommendation. Also, I only make a pot of decaf and don't both with reg. -- unless my kids are around.

I'd have a little of everything: a glass of wine, one cup of regular and one cup of decaf. Easy to please as long as there is half and half and some non aspartame sweetener, preferably sweet-in-low.

A cup of regular after a meal is a nice pick-me-up. Normally I have no use for decaf, but I can enjoy a cup if that's all I'm offered. You might say I'm a social drinker when it comes to decaf.

Now I'm going to really throw you off - if you have sweet-n-low, also have some splenda. Sweet-n-low is sacrany tasting, and I was under the impression it did contain aspartane.. Since it's expensive to go out and buy a variety, try to borrow some.

Don't bother with the sweet in low- nobody will want it anyway....I'm one of the very few and usually have a pack in my purse if necessary.
All aspartame and splenda gives me cystic acne so I never use it.
Sweet-in Low tastes just fine if used correctly. Most people use way too much, easy to do, and then it tastes bad.
The off brands of sweet-in-low do taste bitter and funky.

Because I am such a tea drinker myself, I bought a large thermos for parties, so I can make coffee in a pot, and then put out boiling water in the thermos for the tea drinkers. Then I put a little basket next to it with herbal tea and regular and decaf tea bags in it. But it so happens that I have all those kinds of tea on hand anyway. You can buy boxes of mixed kinds of tea though, for not very much.
Maybe you already have a thermos on hand you can put into service.

Thank you! I never considered Sweet 'n Low or Splenda.... I never use them so they are never in the house. I will consider them, and keep the remaining ones on hand for future guests.

I'm with the rest of the gang - one pot of each regular and decaf coffee, and offering tea too. Maybe you can borrow a couple air pots or thermos coffee pots. At work we make one of each and have a variety of teas, sugar and sweetener packets, and creamer. Your guests will be very pleased because of the choices!
