Pecan Triangles, OMGosh! These are outstanding and look pretty easy to make, too.

Also, some little cranberry bites, one lady makes these every year because she knows how much I love them. Even Woody, who professes to dislike cranberries, loves these!

Thanks FlamingO. Those pecan triangles look so good. I'm adding them to my stash of recipes to serve at holiday times.

I like cranberries, but usually just in the traditional ways. I've decided if Woody who doesn't really like cranberries, likes them, I might also give them a try. :)

The same thing happened to my Angel Trumpet several weeks ago. The frosted leaves have now dropped off and I am seeing new growth in all the damaged areas already! Unfortunately, I did lose some of the flowers.

Thanks Deb. I got the plumie last winter when my friend couldn't fit all hers in the house, lol. It was blooming but we knocked off most of the flowers moving it. We have a red one that is multi branched that we couldn't move and a large yellow one. The others are small. If you plant is has been rooted for a while there is a good chance you will get blooms next year. They like a lot of fertilizer like the brugs. I can't wait to see all those open on the older one and got a surprise flower on another one this morning. I thought it was the orange pot I was seeing through the greenery and I went Humm, whats that red thing, lol. It was a beautiful bloom hiding in there, lol. The variegated hibiscus is pretty but there are such long stems on the flowers they all hang down. You can click on the pics to enlarge them if you can't see them well.

"Block" Party At The Beach Last Night

We've had neighbors try having a block party...but.....my neighbors are not people that want to hang out together. :0) We've got Barb, the neighborhood gossip....avoid her. Then Mike#1 called once accusing ME of throwing a rock threw his kitchen window, never apologized when he found out who did it....never said "I'm sorry".....what an A$$. Mike #2 has tried stealing the property along side my house twice now. This week he's putting in a new fence and has trampled my flower garden to dust! 2nd time in 2 years he's redone his fence! The last time he tried fencing in MY property, said I wasn't using it. :0( Girl across the street moved in 2 years ago, paid cash with her trust fund(she was 25 yrs old) and tried having a formal attire house warming for herself, all neighbors invited. Now she won't speak unless spoken to first and rarely goes outside..... Think these people do better by themselves!

Thanks, ladies. Yes, it's a lot of fun and it seems like the ladies are really outdoing themselves every year. I do have an idea for next years ornie, in fact I have almost everything I need to make them. I saw on FlickR some ornaments that look like those candied fruit slices, you know the ones you see in the nice candy stores, they look like a slice of orange, or lemon, lime, etc. They make them in citrus colors and red.... well, these were felt, 2 colors in each one, like dark green/lime green or dark yellow/bright yellow, etc, and covered with "sugar", which was a square crystal glitter. Simple, but VERY CUTE. I was thinking of making a set of 3 for each lady. I bought all the stuff to make them in case my ships didn't turn out. So I'll be making those, and I won't wait until early December, either! lol bRAT Kat- those are his little mittened hands you're seeing, ya perv! lol It's not a good photo, I realize that. He is absolutely the most charming, old-fashioned little guy, we all flipped over him. The 2 girls on either side of me, their guys had glittery felt shoes- mine has plain. I told them their little guys were gay. lolol And their little scarves are so cute, a tiny button holds it in place. He is perfection. I recommend these kinds of parties to everyone. What a great way to get together, have lots of fun and good food and be creative AND get a huge assortment of ornies. Oh. I don't do a tree anymore, I'm sad to say. Too many cheesy cats in this house that would tear it up. I keep some of the ornaments and share some with friends. I have a lovely assortment in boxes! lol Thanks, WC, about the cat. I hope to hear from the vet this morning that I can pick him up. Fingers crossed!

I think you ladies will be happy with these, thanks for looking and thanks, Linda, for linking!

You know, the first time I tried craisins, they had just hit the market and they were HORRIBLE. I just used some yesterday in a recipe and they are wonderful. I think I must have gotten a bad batch the first time.

Linda, if you put a bunch of fresh cranberries in a bowl of melted vanilla almond bark and then spread them out in 1's or 2's on parchment paper to set up, they are delish and make a nice little addition to a plate of cookies, something fruity and different. Woody likes THEM, too. (Make sure they're washed and dry and at room temp, of course, or the choc won't stick.)

I really need another dessert so I am going to try these. I love pecans and pecan pie so these should be a good one for us. I noticed when looking at the recipe a link to Pineapple coconut bars that look really good too.

Thanks for the recipes.

I made the Pecan Triangles for one of our desserts for yesterday's Christmas dinner and everyone loved them!

I just brought all the ingredients for the Cranberry bites and will try and make those this weekend. I will also try the Pineapple coconut recipe - but I just don't know when.
