At 20 days a laundry basket is needed to transport the puppies. They have outgrown the salad bowl.

Aren't they cute?

They 'live' in the store/furnace room just down the hall from my computer. They are starting to move about and make puppy noises. Grunting can be heard any time they are awake.

There's a couple of very vocal puppies who are big boobs; they whine a lot. Then there's two are downright mouthy and bark anytime you walk in the door, past the door and speak to them.

One very special little boy gets first pick out of the whole batch. His name is Sam and he's seven. His brother got a puppy from Gabby's first batch. Sam got a puppy from the last batch but sadly, it died. Now he wants another,

The fellow who owns Whiskers (the puppies daddy) lost a dog a few weeks ago. He has a pair of dogs who are full brother and sister to Tuffy. Whiskers is from those dogs. He will get his pick after Sam chooses.

So, since I have deposits for five puppies this means they all have homes...good homes I might add. I don't sell a puppy to just anyone!

I worried Gabby would have trouble raising seven puppies so I keep a bowl of puppy chow out for her all the time. She is also getting all the fat trimmings from my kitchen. Her weight is good and she's slick and shiny. The puppies, as you can see, are doing well too. Even so, I'm giving her a break her next heat cycle. Three batchs three heat in a row is enough for any dog, no matter their health. She is such a good little mother but she needs a break.

OMG! The one in the last pic...on the right in the picture....I hope Sam picks that one! It looks like it's going to be super hairy like Tuffy.That's the one I would take if I "needed" another dog...which I don't....I really don't...nope,don't need another dog....no more dogs....LOL!

I knew what you meant, but would have probably gone back and corrected it had I typed it too! I do feel lucky to have her... and insane. Izzy has been an exceptional nanny. Jaz isn't feeling too well these days, but when she does feel up to interacting, she's enjoyed the pup too. Here's a short video of Izzy and Tullie shredding rope toys in the back yard earlier today. When I got my female ACD (austalian cattle dog), she tried that 'ferosious" act with me. Dogs live in a pack and must establish their dominance. When pups are small, it's best to be insistant on turning them over on their backs and rub their bellies. When a dog shows you his belly, it's a sign of submission. In other words, he sees you as the dominant member of the pack. Also, a form of "punishment" in the pack, is a nip on the ears. Yes, I have nipped my dogs ears. I have given my dog a nice, fat, juicy bone just to take it back from her. When she growled or barred her teeth, she got a nip on the ears and two finger thump accross the nose with a NO. Then I gave her back her bone. I repeated this until she knew that I am the dominant alpha female in this pack. The humans in this household always eat first. The dogs eat next. I don't usually feed them table scraps very often. I hate dogs that sit at the table and beg for food. But my dogs always get a plateful at Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. In their own bowls. It may sound cruel, but until you understand how a pack functions, you can't properly train a pup. My female also gets a two fingered thump on the snout with a firm "NO" for bad behavior. The single most important thing to remember is, consistancy. There's a difference between abuse and a reprimand. A reward system also helps in training. When they do something you asked them to do, a skooby snack is in order. Eventually, you'll want to get away from the skooby snack and a pat or rub with a "good boy" will suffice. My female knows, "Val come", "Val Hold", "Off", "Get in the truck", "watch'em" and most importantly, the word "treat". All which are reinforced with hand signals. I don't have to speak a word to her to make her come, sit and lay down. When a dog growls, he's showing his strength over humans. They need to be taught that we are the alphas in the pack. It depends on the intended use of the dog, a companion or a watchdog. A watchdog you wouldn't want to 'socialize' with other humans. If a companion, you want to socialize him with other household members and friends. I've socialized Val enough that, IF I open the door and LET you in, you're OK. But If you just walk in, wether she knows you or not, she'll go for your butt. Hope this helps. Nancy

in our housing colony, a stray dog gave birth to 3 small, cute pups. till 3-4 weeks they were in the temporary shelter made by their mum. when they opened their eyes and started walking, i was very happy and thought that they would come to our quarter and play. after a week or so, one pup(out of 3) came to our house in evening. He sat in the verandah, slept for a few minutes. at that time i was sleeping. my sister told that he slept for a few minutes and then she and my mom came back and they also felt like sleeping and slept for half an hour. When we returned, we saw he wasn't there. we thought he must have snuggled through the openings of the main iron door. At that very night, that pup,(whose shelter had been transferred to a public garage) started weeping. my dad and i put him on a cardboard piece near his siblings and mother and came back. this continued for 2 more days. after that he stopped weeping. i noticed he couldnot drink his mother's milk too.he had become very weak. we did everything for him that we could do, put him with his mother and siblings, covered him with a cloth too. but, even after that, on 14th jan2014, when it was 12:30 PM , I went to check him and found he was not breathing, i shaked him and even put him to another place by hand. he didnot react which he usually did while being placed by hand.then i sadly realised that he had left us... my heart is broken.what to do.

linelle - Painting the DW was pretty painless. DH removed the door panel, which also has the sides on it on my KA model, and I took it out back and scrubbed it with soapy water, rinsed well and let dry. Then, I lightly scuffed with fine grit sandpaper like 180 or 220 and wiped down with a dry, lint free cloth. Sprayed first coat and let dry, then sprayed second coat and let dry. DH put the panel back on and you can see the result below. As I said though, I want to try and see if I can paint the plastic part at the top with that Krylon paint that fuses with plastic so it won't wear off. The door latch is in that part (obviously) and gets touched a lot so I want something that will last. The appliance epoxy I used was a Rustoleum product. It looks so much better painted than the white is used to be, but not nearly as nice as an actual SS DW will when I can afford it. I'm planning to paint my fridge also with the same paint at some point as it is all white too. Much bigger job than just the DW door panel, however. Before: After with partial backsplash install.

Ern is very relieve they all have homes. He can be so negative some times. He made a comment we probably wouldn't be able to sell them all and it ticked me off so I told him just for not having any faith in me or my dogs I would KEEP any I couldn't sell. I think I scared him. He hasn't said anything since. He knows a threat/promise when he hears one...LOL

All of them will be hairy; some more than others.
My favorite is in the first picture with her mouth open.
Note: she is NOT yawning. She is complaining. Not crying, as in 'I want my mommy' but griping, as in 'I don't think I like this....'

Oh.My.Gosh! That does it....I'm booking a flight! I gotta help Digger hold that passel of puppies. I love the one that's tromping on his sister's head. They are all soooo cute and obviously well fed. Keep taking those pics and torturing us. Oh, and can you pick me up at the airport? lolol
