There was an earlier thread about lash extensions. I will look for it and paste it in if I can find it. I wear lash extensions. I do not think they are mink, tho! They are natural looking lashes applied with surgical glue by a technician at a spa where I live. An hour session will give you complete fullness for each eye, and a half hour, (mini), session provides fill-ins for any lashes lost. They last one me for a month and I never, ever have to wear mascara anymore. The hr. fill costs $70, the mini fill is $30. I have always had decent lashes, but as I got older they seemed to thin out. These lash extensions are beautiful, and you can get varying lengths to whatever you prefer. I wear a 12. I have to go in about every 3-4 weeks for a mini fill.

If you want to do the extensions, do an allergy test on the adhesive first. I saw Kristen Chenowith on a show recently. She showed a pic of herself when she got extensions and is apparently allergic to the adhesive. Oh my!!! Eyes and face all swollen and red; it was awful!

I've done all of the above, I used to own a salon and applied so many of the individual lashes. It doesn't hurt and they look great but, in my opinion, you'd be best served to buy some nice false eyelashes that are believable, apply a very thin bead of adhesive and you're good to go. Then you put a little mascara on the tips and you look like a million.

I have always had sparse eyelashes and hated it.. and I only wear mascara for special occasions because it irritates my eyes also.

I will continue to deal with my deficiency though because I am unwilling to deal with the issues of any means to enhance. I have an allergy to adhesives-- a bandaid or patch will give me hives and insane itches. The Latisse is to have side effects very similar to glaucoma medicine (in fact, I think it is a variation of one of the glaucoma meds)-- and can change your eye color and eyelash color.

You may want to try a new eyeliner.. or new eye makeup.. or play up your lips to add drama. I have been using a gel eyeliner from lancome that goes on wet and seems to last well. I also switched to wearing a liquid eye shadow (chanel) in a new color (a reflective pink-brown) that seems to play up my eyes in a subtle way without wanting/needing a mascara.

As I remember, I think we have similar coloring. I have medium tone skin with blonde hair (though mine is *cough* chemically enhanced). I feel silly in heavy lashes -- yes, I'd like to have *some* lashes lol.. but I usually just stick to a natural palette and add a little shimmer with the eye shadow mentioned above and a lipstick with a little gloss.

Besides, heavy lashes would showcase the dark circles and bags under my eyes!! ;)

It is a very rare accurance for eye color to change with the active ingrediant in Latisse when used directly in the eye for glaucoma treatment. When it's used on the lids for lash lengthening it never occurs but they have to legally mention it as a possibility.

I used Latisse for a while and my lashes did get very long. They didn't get darker, though, so I still used mascara.

I use Latiise and love it. As the previous poster stated it has lengthened my lashes but didn't darken them. With a light layer of mascara they are perfect. I'll never forget how I realized my lashes were growing. They started making smudges on my sunglasses and it took me awhile to figure out that my lashes were touching the lens of my glasses. It works for me!
