Good news, more good news and great news!

Update on my Mom and Brother. Mom is feeling so much better now and able to mostly fend for herself again. DB, who had a quadruple bypass 2 weeks ago, is improving daily. He's been home from the hospital since Monday, and is getting around pretty good.

The great news is......my DSis, who had to go back for a second mammogram and an ultrasound, has no tumor! YAY! What a relief! She's my best friend in all the world, my mentor, and I couldn't stand the thought of her being sick.

I repeat.....YAY!

I bought 2 bonanza dwarf peach trees back in 2009. They are planted in the ground and have doubled in size since being planted. Currently they are about 4' - 5' tall. They are healthy, bloom like crazy, and every year for the last 3 years they've been covered with "would be peaches" HOWEVER the fruit NEVER develops into an edible peach. The fruit stays green and gets a bit bigger than a peach seed then JUST STOPS. Why? Is this normal? Granted, I probably shouldn't have bought peach trees at Lowes but I'd never seen a small variety and the tag on these said they wouldn't get larger than 6 feet (which was perfect for my yard). Why are they setting fruit but not producing mature fruit? Here's one of the trees (below). The other one is 8 feet to the right (not pictured). Here's how big the "fruit" is (below). It has been this size for a month with no sign of getting any bigger - just like last year, and the year before that (sigh).

If the root snapped from tipping the pot , it was insignificant to be a real loss. Try placing the tree in a shaded area for a few days and bring it back out into the sun. 3 of my sweetlee tangerine trees had root outside the pot and I transplanted them. I put them in shade and broken light for about a week to 2 weeks. They are doing fine now. Nice to hear you got some good fruit

Thanks for the compliments on the annual pot! I worked for a private gardener one summer many years ago and my job was to do the annual pots and take care of them all summer. They ordered truck loads of gorgeous and rare annuals for their customers. I WISH I had access to something more interesting, but I make due (sp?) with what the local nurseries sell.... geraniums, million bells, licorice, potato vines, petunias, etc... I have 2 of these pots in my back done the same way and every year all I do is change the color of the million bells and geranium. It always comes out nice, but I think I'm getting bored with the same design every year. Oops, sorry to go on... thanks!

All in all its been a fun and tiring weekend! So far I worked 7 1/2 hours Friday, 9 hours Sat and 7 hours yesterday...today is supposed to be 7. Its retail so its busy...I have 2 days off in a row tomorrow and Wed and then working similar hours until next Wed. Everyone has been super nice!! I felt at home right away!! I am starting to second guess the caf job now. I am still going to go thru the paperwork to start working and just play it by ear thru the holidays.
