I think you are right, the brass does look dated to me as well. It would be helpful to see more of your kitchen, like the counters and other colors in there. I don't think your hardware has to match your light fixture finish, what is your faucet, and appliances? I can see why you are apprehensive to take the plunge that is a lot of pulls! Restoration Hardware has some nice pulls and shows them in different finishes, you could grab one you liked in a few different finishes and see them on your cabinet.

Yes, the brass ones are dated. Love the new ones but as has been said, seeing more of the kitchen would help.

On a personal note, let me just say I empathize with you. My Hubby thinks that anything that veers beyond a light tan is "too dark". Has made this remodeling process very stressful. Funny thing is, when I *do* get him to go beyond that he likes it.

You have chosen wisely. It's a bright room, and even brighter minus the wallpaper (which I kinda like, for wallpaper). Boy that's gonna be a lot of pulls! =)

I agree with the crowd..the ORB look fresher...I would definately go with those.

OK, here's kindof a crazy thought. Could you get a can of the Rustoleum hammered metal spray paint and give some of your current knobs/pulls a makeover? I'm just thinking that 89 of those suckers is gonna get pricey. You should preview the effect with the spray paint -- c'mon, you were gonna throw the old pulls out anyway, right?

I think evilbunnie is right on. Try spraying a couple and see what you get. What have you got to lose? But, I would sand them a bit first just to rough up the finish to make for a better bond.

I'm with evilbunnie - give those old pulls a spray. This could be a great way to save some coin and not have to wait for those appliances to have a natural death....
