Hi everyone! Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Yes, Jessy, this year I remembered to check for this thread. I missed it entirely last year. Maybe because last year was a big decade-changing birthday and I was in denial. This year I don't care and am happy to be alive and healthy on this beautiful day in May.

Sorry to say I am at work, so no sleeping or lounging for me. I took last Friday off to make it a four day weekend so I didn't want to take another day off so soon. Well, I WANTED to, but didn't.

The day has been fine so far. The weather is beautiful, my hair looks okay and they played songs I like on the radio as I drove to work. It's the little things that count.

Tonight I am going out for dinner with my mom and #2 son. I picked the restaurant based on where my mom likes to go, since she is 90 and more trendy places don't appeal to her. So, we are going to The Guard House, which is actually a very nice place and I can get weinerschnitzel!

I am also waiting for everyone in my office to surprise me with something. Not sure if it will be cake or flowers.

Again -- thanks for making my day even better!

Thank you once again for all your birthday wishes! I love the pictures. Sharon, your picture looks just like a hibiscus in my garden.

My co-workers were so funny trying to surprise me. They kept clinking the glasses together and I could tell they were up to something. They gave me a delicious cake with a buttercream frosting and raspberry filling. The cake was a yellow cake (sorry, Ellen -- I'm not a chocolate person). They had Martinelli's cider in nice glasses and also gave me a funny frog planter (with plants) for my garden.

Dinner with Mom and DS#2 was nice. I had the capresa salad which was fabulous, weinerschnitzel with spaetzle and red cabbage. Very good. A nice of glass of Reisling, too!

My phone has been ringing all night with calls from well-wishers. It's nice to be remembered -- and that includes you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had a lovely birthday that went on for several days. Belatedly I got a gift card for a pedicure and a gift card for our local (not chain) movie theater, both from good friends.

Today is my son's birthday, so it's time to move over to make room for his celebration. I made his traditional birthday cake -- an ice cream cake. It's jelly-roll style with a light chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream. He's 36 - no kid!
