Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had a lovely birthday that went on for several days. Belatedly I got a gift card for a pedicure and a gift card for our local (not chain) movie theater, both from good friends. Today is my son's birthday, so it's time to move over to make room for his celebration. I made his traditional birthday cake -- an ice cream cake. It's jelly-roll style with a light chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream. He's 36 - no kid!

Thanks for all the new wishes! This birthday has lasted all weekend. I had a great day today marching in the Memorial Day parade, carrying the library banner. Only one kid on a bike ran into the back of my ankle -- that was better than other years!

Happy Birthday one day late, Pam. Better late than never, my almost, kind of close to, sort of birthday twin except another day and another year, LOL. Snails, huh? I'm with you, they're too chewy and I think of those little slimy things on the sides of aquariums, but I'm coming up on the "7 year rule", so I'll have to try again, eventually. Wow -- my first birthday wishes from the KT. Thank you and what a nice surprise.

I celebrated last Friday with my family at a nice restaurant. I've had lots of birthday phone calls today. I went to the eye doctor this morning and bought myself a birthday cake on the way home. I had them write Happy Birthday Pam on it.

Better Than Pam -- LOL. No such thing. Thanks, everyone.

Thanks, again everyone. I started posting on Kitchens when my kitchen was remodeled and then followed my Kitchen friends to Cooking, where I have done most of my posting. I really don't cook much, so it's fun to come over here and just chat.

The cake was very cute but not the best tasting. Good, but not great. Still -- it's cake!
