Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had a lovely birthday that went on for several days. Belatedly I got a gift card for a pedicure and a gift card for our local (not chain) movie theater, both from good friends. Today is my son's birthday, so it's time to move over to make room for his celebration. I made his traditional birthday cake -- an ice cream cake. It's jelly-roll style with a light chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream. He's 36 - no kid!

Thanks for all the new wishes! This birthday has lasted all weekend. I had a great day today marching in the Memorial Day parade, carrying the library banner. Only one kid on a bike ran into the back of my ankle -- that was better than other years!

Thanks for the additional wishes! The parade was a riot, as always. More people in it than watching it. This year we were behind the kids on bikes but in front of a giant Percheron horse. Guess it's better to be in front of a horse! He kept whinnying and I thought for sure we would be trampled. Actually, he did pretty well and so did we.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the good wishes. I keep thinking that if I ignore my birthday I won't have to be a year older. I'm really only a day older, right?

I am sorry to say that I am at work. We are so busy a day off wasn't possible. They surprised me yesterday with a beautiful yummy cake, flowers, a Barnes & Noble gift certificate and a pinata. I can't bring myself to whack the pinata. It's too cute (a parrot) and I am also afraid that I will pull down the suspended ceiling (a la America's Funniest Home Videos).

My son and I are going to grab a pizza tonight. His birthday is Monday, so one night we will go out for a nice dinner and take Mom (and let her pay!).

Nancy, thanks for the link to Adam. Sigh. I like him with his hair slicked back.

Jessy, thanks for starting this thread. Makes me very happy.

Thanks! Lou, sorry you took a wrong turn. I think there's still some pizza in the fridge. I was too tired to go out last night so we brought pizza home.

I got home to find a basket of hanging flowers from son #2 and a beautiful flower arrangement from son #1. Nice.

I got three birthday cards in the mail today, so I guess it is day #2 of my birthday. The BF is taking me out for dinner tonight. I don't know what to wear -- not my birthday suit, for sure!
