Mom is gone....

Mom passed at 7:45 this morning. She was in hospice for the last few days, and my DSis stayed with her there, and was with her till the end. She brushed Mom's hair and put a bit of lipstick on her, then called me on the webcam to tell me. Over the webcam, I got to see Mom, and cry with my DSis.

Thank you all for your warm thoughts and prayers. It meant so much to Mom and also to me.

She'll be cremated right away, and in the spring or early summer, DSis will bring her home and we'll bury her with our Dad.

I'm going out to B.C. next week to see my Dsis and DBil. I'm going to give them such hugs! They've been so good to Mom, both of them.

There is no worry about the box now, dirty is fine, the main worry with dirty boxes is early in hatchling life due to blow fly and thats usually the second nesting here. Your doing great! Just dont open the box anymore. Get a few wax worms and let Dad do the rest, your job is done except for playing look out on fledge day. Mac60, how long has she been gone? Is there a possibility she's still around, but a little scarce and perhaps is letting Dad do most of the work? The reason I ask is that although my Mama didn't disappear completely, Dad was doing most of the feeding several days before fledging...a little older than your babies are now. A couple of times, I thought she had left for good, but I guess she was taking some time off and letting Dad do all the work. Sorry to hear about Mom and I'll keep my fingers crossed that she is safe somewhere. Kudos to your Daddy blue who now appears to be a single parent. I'm sure the babies will be fine. Donna

I WRITE WHEN I MISS MY MOMMY..... I cry in the dark, so no one can see, I cry for my Mommy, as if I were three. I do not want to bother anyone with my pain, I only wish I could hold my Mommy again. I do not know at times, If I can go on. Im all alone, now that she's gone, Im trying so very hard to hold on. I forgot, as I was wrapped up in my own problems in life. That if Mommy wasnt there, then nothing would be alright. Im a big girl now, and Mommy said she was so proud, I wonder what she would say, If she could see me now. I will let everyone believe, that Im just fine. But my Mommy always knew when I was lieing. The only thing I know to due, is go back to my dark room, where none can see, how badly this has taken hold of me. I have things to be thankful for, so many, I need to take time to thank the Lord for watching over me and my Family, I also want to let him know, that for the Love I have in my heart,that she owns, I will let my Mommy go. Take good care of her, for I promise to change my ways, so I can be there with her someday, to hold her hand, and kiss her cheek, and tell her over and over again, how much she means to me

You have my sympathies for your loss. Thinking back to when my mother passed away, and I was already a grown adult with a child of my own, but as I recall, my father, although he was battling alzheimer's and wasn't always in tune to reality, I remember that he knew this was a blow for me, and I remember him coming over a couple of days after, and just getting me out of the house. He took me to a park and a couple of other places, and him just being there was a big lift to my spirits. Just being there with your kids is the single biggest thing you can do. I am sure you will find out, just through their body language, if they are comfortable about talking about mom, or recalling old memories. For me, it also seemed that getting out of the house and doing some types of activity of hobby really helped take my mind off my greif at the time, and I believe it would for my children as well, if I were in that situation with them.

This is Mom when she was 85. We were at her little Sister's 50th anniversary party. I was so proud of her. She looked dynamite!

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. I'm going to share them with my DSis. I think she needs to hear them. Mom's death is much harder on her, as she's been her sole caregiver since this all started.

Laurel, I'm very sorry you lost your Mom. She was so pretty and very youthful looking. She's at peace now. And I know we all want that for our lost loved ones. I lost my Dad 25 years ago, he was only 60! My Mum died in my arms 12 years ago. I didn't think I would survive that. I hope you and your sister can help each other through this. You're in my prayers.
