Angels on Horseback, Pigs in Blankets, picks with a cube of ham/pineapple tidbit/pickled onion, etc., thin rye bread spread with cheese mixture and run under the broiler, Chex mix (the original recipe!).

The first thing that popped into my mind was fake rumaki...water chestnuts wrapped with bacon, doused with soy sauce and baked or broiled. Ooo, and deli sliced ham spread with cream cheese (maybe with pickle or asparagus in center), rolled and sliced into pinwheels. Stuffed mushrooms. Fondue.

Pickle rolls, dried onion soup and sour cream....sour cream and a can of chopped clams and some onion powder. Small stick pretzels with cubes of Velveeta speared on the end.
A hollowed out part of half a cabbage with a sterno can in the hole and cubes of spam stuck on skewers, stuck into the cabbage.
Wheat thins spread with olive cheese spread and topped with an olive slice.
Wonder bread, rolled thin with the crust cut off, spread with pimento cheese, rolled up and sliced into a pinwheel,
Checkerboard sandwiches...white and wheat bread, unsliced loaves, sliced, spread with cream cheese and stacked alternatly, slicked, restacked and sliced again.
Celery stuffed with cream cheese, Anything you can thi k of put on a piece of melba toast. Shrimp with cocktail sauce. Radish roses, carrot curls, onion brushes and mini celery sticks.

I can't believe no-one's mentioned cheese balls :-)

1960s? Summer sausage & cheese served with Ritz. Anything that "sits on a Ritz". Cocktail franks & mini meatballs. Deviled eggs.

Pizza Rolls were late 60s. Pickled herring was always around when I was young. (Never could stomach that stuff.)

Oh and cherry tomatoes with chicken or tuna salad.

I vote for a spectacular jello mold and also you need a punch bowl and a punch recipe!!!

The ultimate Jell-O dessert in that era would be Stained Glass Cake. If you Google that, there will be all sorts of recipe variations. Although the original was made with Dream Whip topping mix, you could use real whipped cream.

Ambrosia fruit salad. Yum. We always made it with sour cream and I think added mini marshmallows. Haven't had it in years.
