We live off the grid. Have 40 acres in the white mountains of NE Arizon. We love it. We have solar panels mounted to a tracker for electricity. We have a wind generator and also a propane generator for back up. We use our gray water for some gardening. Satelite for tv and computer. Need the computer as we make our money on it with our website. We just love it! It is quite expensive tho to get started. We just had our well put in this spring. Prior to that we had water brought in on a truck. Do you actually get enough sun in Chicago to keep batteries charged? Good luck to you.

Everyone has been SO helpful!!!! You don't know how much I appreciate all the research. You are the greatest! I don't believe it was the Tucker sisters, although they do fit the descriptions that I gave. I called the public library this morning and asked to speak to a reference librarian. I told her my dilemma, and gave her the information about the "unknown book." She came up with a book that is described as: A WOMAN RETURNS FROM THE BAHAMAS AND DECORATES HER HOUSE PINK. That has to be it! What are the chances of there being another book like this. She is going to call me back, but she told me this book is by Dorothy Draper, a great woman decorator who introduced color to the world of decorating. And, it was the Bahamas, not Bermuda -- I knew it started with a "B!" LOL I know that Dorothy Draper wrote a book entitled, "In the Pink." Not sure if this is the book -- BUT at least, I'm pretty sure that Dorothy Draper is the author. The librarian was busy at the time so that is the reason she is going to call me back. Do you guys think you can help me find which Dorothy Draper book this might be?

The only LGB I have left is The Poky Little Puppy. I must have read that one to my daughter 1,000 times. I never could figure out why she liked it so much better than the others. When she was four, someone started a LGB chain letter. She got several books from it and would dance up and down when she saw the postman coming. This would have been 1959 back when we had a wonderful local department store that delivered. Sure enough, a woman who had a new baby in addition to her small child called the store and they delivered a 25-cent LGB to us by van. Those were the days!
