I used a staple gun to hold it in place. The staples only go in as far as the padding, but that's enough to hold it in place while you move your mattress into place. Just remember that when you want to wash the skirt, you have to recover all the staples. They hurt to step on.

LOL mine gets all crooked from the mattress moving etc....and it drives me nuts...STacy

Do you have a wood bed or is is one of those metal bed frames on wheels?

If the bed it attractive and you are not trying to cover an ugly metal frame, just buy a nice fitted sheet and put it over the box springs. It covers the ugly box spring without shifting. I hate those skirts on beds. They just collect dust and cat hair which is why they are AKA 'dust ruffles' and it is one more thing to have to wash.

When I saw the title, I was going to say, "Modesty." But since you're talking bed skirts, I use those little U shaped pins that stick into the mattress.

I use bedskirt pins, they work very well.

Big saftey pins do the job for me.

I hate bedskirts. Everything was so simple when we just had a bedspread and pillows, and the beds weren't as high as the dining room table.

My first thought was 'wear jeans' :-0 I can barely turn my mattress by 'scooting' it on the box springs. No way! would I be able to keep a bed skirt in place (although I used to have them). My quilts (no bedspread) do a fair job of keepin the springs covered; anything stored under the bed is fair game, I guess.

Safety pins in one bed and bedskirt pins on the other. Either one works well. I had the same problem before I found the pins. Drove me nuts!

Wow! I never heard of bedshirt pins! That would probably be better than the staple gun! Thanks!

Aren't those just spiral upholstery pins? We use them to keep arm covers on some of our chairs.

use velcro
cut the "fitted sheet" part that goes over the top of your box spring, but do leave some, attach velcro to the top of the bed skirt and the top of the box spring. easy to take off and launder too

I was going to ask who wears skirts?

i gave them up...i put a fitted bottom sheet over the box springs. then i spray painted the metal frame white to match the bedroom trim...

A microfiber suede fitted sheet looks good covering the box spring and holds tighter than a woven sheet.

Thanks for all the tips...went out and got the ole staple gun but no staples soooo I just used safety pins....and when it needs washing...I am just going to do as said and get another fitted sheet......

Or, Stacy, sew your bed skirt to another fitted sheet, that you put over the box springs. Works great, stays in place, and is still easy to take off and wash when needed.
