I live in the UK as you probably know, and my current daily drivers (and favourites) are Persil Bio, Persil Colour Care, Persil Non Bio powders, Ariel Sensitive powder, Ariel Colour & Style liquid, Bold Ocean Clear powder & liquid, and Bold Apple Blossom & Lime Zest liquid. These are the detergents that over time I've found to never let me down, and all rinse out fairly easily. The Ariel biological and colour powders are nice, however I don't like the new scent and I've also found that since they've been reformulated rinsing quality for me has gone down.

Fabric softener wise, Comfort Blue and Comfort Lily & Riceflower are my favourites, however I'm allergic to both of these so I have to use Ecover or Surcare. Lenor softeners I'm not a fan of, but their Summer Breeze one does smell nice too. The others IMO smell too chemical.

If you want a Euro sized scoop, Persil 30 wash boxes & over have a free scoop inside. These are the scoops I use daily and they work well for me.

How much room do you have in your suitcase? LOL.

I really like Persil Biological Powder (since they don't make the tabs anymore), and Persil Non-Bio Tabs are excellent (as well as the powder). Ariel Colour & Style tabs are great too.

Oh yeah, and I love Comfort Sensitive and Blue Comfort.

That should be Bold apple Blossom & Lime Zest powder... I haven't used the Apple & Lime liquid yet!

If you like that vintage detergent smell, you'll find both Bold Ocean Clear powder and liquid has it... can't beat it!

I can just see it now... your suitcase setting off the scanner sensors and all the military people getting excited and blowing it up in the parking lot releasing a mysterious white powder!

Then they'll have to post a hazardous material alert and call in the disposal team with all their clothing and masks to clean up the mess !!

All the while the airport is shut down and all flights in and out are canceled.

OMG - hahaha !!

And remember that the airlines are quite picky about the weight of your baggage these days. If you exceed the limit, you will be paying hefty overweight baggage fees! Check with your returning airline for details.....

wblynch, linking to you post, maybe kawfeeaddict would be best off not buying this British detergent then, just to be safe :-)

Oh boy...I'm going to want to try one of each ! I can see this is going to get very heavy, very fast, LOL! Perhaps I will have to mail a laundry care package back to myself in the States :)

BTW, I usually swing though Harrod's and check out the Miele's unavailable in the US. Are there any other (better) Miele showrooms in London? I'll be in Mayfair.

The John Lewis department store on Oxford Street in London has a large range of most appliances available here today... all plugged in, including the new design Miele's available over here :-).

When I'm on Oxford Street, I often make sure to pop into the giant H&M and Topman too, to stock up on laundry loads :-).

Make sure when ur in london u go 2 sainsbury's supermarket and grab urself some persil liquid. the green stuff works great cuz u can wash almost any type of fabric with it. Also grab either comfort easy iron or lenor summer breeze which is the yellow one. actually, could u do me a favor and grab me 2 bottles of each thing i just listed and a small thing of ariel powder, the regular kind, and when u get back 2 the states, can u ship them 2 me? i will pay 4 the cost and shipping and handling. my email is nevrsaynevr1@aol.com. im actually being serious about this. so if u could do this 4 me i would be 4ever indebted 2 u. i always try 2 get the stuff online but its just 2 darn expensive. i tried ordering something that would cost me $5.00 and with shipping and handling it ended up being $40.00 cuz its coming all the way from england. so please respond 2 me with ur answer whether it is a yes or no. just dont keep me in the dark about this 1. thnx
