OT...but I wonder what Emeril will do now that Martha has purchased him? Martha didn't buy the 11 restaurants or Emeril's 'Homebase' but she bought everything else...paid $45M plus another $5M in stocks. The price could go as high as $70M if Emeril makes certain predetermined milestones. The sale's supposed to close in Q2. The Food Network stopped filming "Emeril Live" show last fall. Shows airing now were filmed last year. I sorta like 'Dinner Impossible'. I've watched it several times including most of last night's Hawaiian episode. I wonder if the Food Network will keep the show with the bad press? /tricia

Yes, the Burlington NC University Grill episode was first aired Wednesday of last week, then again on Friday and Saturday. My mom and I had dinner there this past Friday. The interior looks really good and the food was good too. We went about 6:00 p.m. and the place was filling up fast after we left. The show staff said the restaurant could see a 15% increase in business for 3 months after the show aired. I did not know that the reason for the business was to help provide the owner's parents with a well-earned retirement. I think that was an admirable aim. No, my little bit of film didn't make it into the show, which was fine with me. I was upset that my friend from work only had the back of her head in the footage. She worked hard for two days assisting the designer. I wish much success to the family and their business. Teresa

My gosh you people are eating good tonight. Glenda, what all do they put in the spinach salad--and what kind of dressing? I just bought some fresh spinach so I need some ideas. I have chicken (already cooked) I can add for a whole meal salad. Jamie, you're right about the heat but Harry just loves that tomato pie AND fish so he's a happy camper tonight. I'd be happy with your taco salad. I've made that impossible coconut pie, Phyllis. But not for ages. I need to go to the PW site and find that recipe for onion strings. I don't think there's anything better than those. Pam, you've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen and your dinner sounds worth every minute of it. I'd love me some fried potatoes with onions. :-) Shirley, when we were spending our summers in the mountains we used to buy fresh honey from a farm nearby. So, so good. But I'd really love some darned mashed potatoes and gravy!! LOL!

I like Capt. Rayder, she's really come a long way from when she first started on the show. She's gone from snooty and competitive to funny and caring. I think she'll do well in the new show. I think what won me over was when she was getting stories from Brenda's mom over Christmas dinner, of when Brenda was younger. And then when she nailed that bad guy with her bean-bag shotgun, right between the eyes. The other detectives were so impressed and kept that beanbag. It was a hoot.
