Bella's Cocina with my best friend and we both knew what we were ordering without looking at the menu: spinach salad

Tacos--lol. Toooo darn hot to really cook.

Cool here this afternoon. I'm just about to make clam-stuffed mushrooms, and have made the impossible coconut pie earlier. I've also been thinking about Prairie Woman's Onion strings....they are so good. Maybe tomorrow for them as they have to sit in the buttermilk for a while.

We had fried pork cutlets, fried potatoes and onions, roasted asparagus, sliced tomatoes and cheese biscuits. Brownies for dessert.

I made chicken strips w/mushrooms, mashed potatoes/gravy, steamed corn, and I had a slice of Irish brown bread so that I could put the honey on it that came from my nephew's hives. It was sooo good.

My gosh you people are eating good tonight. Glenda, what all do they put in the spinach salad--and what kind of dressing? I just bought some fresh spinach so I need some ideas. I have chicken (already cooked) I can add for a whole meal salad.

Jamie, you're right about the heat but Harry just loves that tomato pie AND fish so he's a happy camper tonight. I'd be happy with your taco salad.

I've made that impossible coconut pie, Phyllis. But not for ages. I need to go to the PW site and find that recipe for onion strings. I don't think there's anything better than those.

Pam, you've been spending a lot of time in the kitchen and your dinner sounds worth every minute of it. I'd love me some fried potatoes with onions. :-)

Shirley, when we were spending our summers in the mountains we used to buy fresh honey from a farm nearby. So, so good. But I'd really love some darned mashed potatoes and gravy!! LOL!

Pat, the owner of Bella's, makes a creamy, very light white dressing, has to have olive oil.

She adds the baby spinach to the plate, chopped boiled eggs, and chopped walnuts, and serves with her gourmet crackers, 3 different kinds to each plate.

My kids are over theri father's house so Sola and I went to Ginza and had hibachi chicken (her) and hibachi shrimp (me). I have tons of leftovers and will probably eat a snack in a little bit.

The heat and humidity left late yesterday and today was a gorgeous, sunny breezy perfect day.

I pan-fried some pork chops (I breaded mine). Steamed a bunch of potatoes (vs. boiled). I cooked enough to make another potato salad, maybe tomorrow. Creamed corn.

We had Wine and Dine tonight. Went to a different restaurant. I had avocado crab Louis and DH had a fried oyster appetizer. Mine was good but not to die for. There was something in the dressing I didn't care for that much. My friends have had this salad and just loved it which is why I ordered it. To each his own.
