Barb- We are EXTREMELY happy with the sink. It's deceptively huge and readily swallows a surprising amount of dishes/pots and pans. I also have no problem laying my cookie sheets flat in the bottom (this is an often cited 'test' on this forum). I have also been able to fit our large skillet and 2 saucepans side by side in the bottom for soaking. Amazing. The quality is outstanding and we love the included sink grid. Its not something we would have purchased but since it came with the sink we started using it and I would never be without one again. A very happy Ticor owner here, if that's somehow not apparent :) The sink has been installed for a little over a year now.

We planning to use this 24" wide ikea sink cabinet: AKURUM Base cb f sink w 2 drs/fascia panel, white, Härlig white http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S29867294/ with this sink: Ruvati RVM4130 Undermount 16 Gauge 25" Kitchen Sink Single Bowl http://www.ruvati.com/product-p/rvm4130.htm bought from efaucets.com Although the sink looks too large, the inside dimensions of the cabinet are 22.5" wide, and the dimensions of the sink bowl are 22 13/16" wide (CAD drawing measurements). So as you can see, it will only require minor shaving to fit the bowl in the cabinet, and some notching of the top side edges of the cabinet to fit the sink flanges. We will be using a sink setter to mount the sink to the underside of the granite counters, rather than standard brackets. We haven't installed the sink yet, but "hacking" cabinets to fit sinks of commonly done. It all depends on the cabinet. The 30" is the exterior dimensions of the cabinet - you have to deduct the width of the sides of the cabinet in order to get the interior dimensions of the cabinet. Depending on how the sink is attached, you still could need more than just enough room for the sink to fit. From your photo, it looks like you would be cutting it a bit close and I would be concerned that cutting so close would compromise the integrity of the cabinets. I would feel safer going with a smaller sink so that there is less of a chance for my cabinet to get damaged. Others have done this, perhaps they will chime in with what they did. I had to send to the installers the dimensions and pdf's of my sinks before they came out to template my countertops. Did they ask you to do this?

@aziline - an FHA appraisal is good for 120 days (used to be 6 months) and the value stays with the property for that entire 120 days. How does another lender know about the value on a failed closing? Because there is an FHA case number issued to the property at the beginning and appraisals have the case number included. This is a Federal requirement, not state by state and only applies to FHA financing, not conventional. So, if the FHA buyer cancels the purchase and you get a conventional buyer thereafter, it has zero effect. However, if the appraisal is for a conventional loan the appraisal doesn't stay with the property at all. Someone can come along immediately and have another appraisal completed with a completely different value result.
