Text from Dog

Do any of you follow this blog? They're also on Facebook. It's done by a man over in the UK who writes these little funnies as though he's getting texts from his bulldog. Some of them are hilarious and have me literally laughing out loud. Maybe it's because I have a 13 year old dog that has developed a bit of an independent, belligerent, I'm-only-doing-what-I-want-to attitude as she's aged... I can almost picture her is some of the scenarios. :)

I should have mentioned that some of the texts have 'language' and 'adult content' (although nothing too serious on that front....) so maybe they're not for everyone.

I have t-mobile, I called them up to complain, and they helped me online to completely block emails in "my settings". Since I blocked our e-mail, I still get text from my kids, and DH and NO ONE else. Most of the spam text are actually emails according to t-mobile and not text messages. What really bugs me is why the carriers don't send out a letter with the bill and say this is happening and how to stop it! Kathy

"So how does one text? I would love to learn - anyone want to post the instructions?" Basically, you just bring up the menu, then choose "Message." Choose "Text" for the type. Depending on your model phone, you "address" the message by pulling from a "recently used" list, or you can type in the phone number, or you can bring up your list of phonebook/contact names and choose from the list. Then you put the cursor into the area where you enter the text and type out your message. If you have a phone with a "QWERTY" keyboard, you type it just as you would on a typewriter or computer keyboard. If you have a phone where you use the "number keypad," you have to press the "2" key three times before you'd get a "c" or the "3" key twice to get an "e," and so on. Usually pressing the "star" key brings up a selection of things like a period, comma, hyphen, question mark, etc. When you're done entering the text, you push the appropriate key/button to "Send."

There can be several reasons why she's peeing in the house. 1. It's not unusual for dogs to pee on new carpet. Not sure why but a carpet layer told me he see's it all the time. Something about the smell of new carpet. 2. It's possible your MIL's dog has had some accidents she's not aware of and your dog is marking where's the other dog has gone. 3. Just because a doggy door is installed (anywhere) doesn't mean your dog will use it. It sounds like your dog hasn't gotten into the routine of living in a different house and the stress of the move has probably caused some anxiety. Plus, there may be something on the other side of the doggy door she doesn't like. 4. Your dog could also have some urinary problems, either stones or an infection, so it warrants a trip to the vet to rule out that possibility. For now, I'd suggest you walk your dog outside often so that she becomes comfortable with the surroundings. There could be a neighbors dog or something else outside that she's afraid of. Take her out thru the door that has the doggy door and when she does pee/poop give her lots of praise (treats are optional). While outside, observe her reactions to anything in the general area. Purchase a black light to find any missed pee spots and treat them with a product made for pet urine. The black light will also show if your MIL's dog has had any accidents. The little things that show up with a black light can be scary. :) Also, don't assume every spot is pee. Food and liquid spills can also leave spots that show up with the black light, so to determine if it's truly pee.......you'll need to smell it.

I love these sorts of things from animals. My husband and I were talking about something similar last night in regard to "if" our Rottweiler could talk or some of the funny stories. Our dog is very social but it's kind of sad because he's a great big black dog and people are afraid to pet him. Being that he has a very expressive face you can see the hurt when people back away or make a wide circle, he always looks back at us as if to say "what did I do, why don't they like me"? There is one place we take him where he is happy happy and that is a little due drop in type bar that has outside seating. First we take him to the dog beach to meet new dog friends and then we go to this little sports bar were everyone is half lit and at that point brave. We sit outside and have a drink and our Rottie gets lots and lots of attention. He loves it. Last night a gal begged us to let her buy him a hamburger. We laughed about it on the way home because there is another place near that serves $17 gourmet burgers with outside seating and we're thinking we could somehow make out from the Rottie attention lol.
