No arrow to go back to the screen

I started to mention this in Glenda's post about her weird Garden Web problem, but didn't.

In the past if I wanted to correct a reply or even if I just wanted to go back to read other posts I hit the back arrow at the top left of the screen. Today mine is missing.

If I want to edit a reply after previewing it I have no way to do it without starting over.

Is it my computer of is everyone else's back arrow missing too?

I'm not positive but try right clicking the address bar and then click on whatever isn't checked.

Hope this works! I had that problem a while back.

Sometimes doing a reboot helps put things back where they belong.

Arrow bamboo is a nice and interesting bamboo, but wouldn't be my first choice for a hedge as that plant's characteristic is to have much of the foliage on top. You can't encourage it to leaf out lower. When a bamboo shoots, each culm reaches its ultimate height, thickness and branchng in 1-2 months and will stay essentially unchanged for the life of that culm. You can't prune it like a tree or bush because what you cut off won't be replaced and nothing below will grow to compensate. In the spring, when the plant shoots, you may get new growth that is shorter than what you have and those leaves will fill in the space below; but ultimately as these plants mature the culms will be taller and taller and there will be less leafing at eye level. I'm not trying to discourage you -- I have Arrow and like it -- but I don't use mine for hedging. If you want a nice hedge that has a vertical habit and is leafy from the ground up, I'd suggest something like Semiarundinaria fastuosa. Here is a link that might be useful: S. fastuosa

I went to Broken Arrow for the first time this spring, and really liked it. They had a good selection of the moisture-loving shrubs I was looking for, and the staff was quite helpful. The view from the back hoophouse alone may be worth the trip! I first went in April, when not much was going on. I went back in June, and had lots more fun (of corse, that's when I was actually buying the items I was just looking for earlier, and that is always more fun, lol!)- and I still hiked up to the back hoophouse just to see the view! I live about a mile from Twombleys. I don't know, maybe it's a matter of "familiarity breeds contempt", but I'm not overly impressed with them. I certainly don't mean contempt here in it's full meaning, just using that saying which implies that you don't always appreciate what's right under your nose. Twombley's does seem to have a wide selection of shrubs and trees (and I'm usually a perennial shopper; not in the market for shrubs and trees too often, which may be one reason why I'm not suitably impressed as I should be). I also find Twombley's to be expensive. However, I would never say NOT to go there. It would be an enjoyable way to spend a morning. And the staff there is also helpful, and their perennial selection is good, if not great. They have a decent display garden also. Wherever you go, have fun! :) Dee

Back and Foward Arrows dissapeared

In IE, click on View and then Toolbars. She can then click the toolbars she wants (try each choice and see if it's the right one). Then be sure to click "Lock Toolbars" to keep from losing any again. Hopefully this will fix her problem. I don't use IE, either, except for MS updates. I usually use Firefox, Opera, or Chrome. Don't know where the AOL people are.

Open up more tabs. When you are on this page reading look at the top of your screen and you will see "no back arrow - Computer Help Forum" now look just to the right of that and there is a small square with a plus sign. Click it to open a second tab and then open the second page you need there. I sometimes have 5 or 6 tabs open if I am jumping about.

No problems here, but if I type a reply, and then want to edit it after hitting preview, I go to the bottom of that very page, and make the corrections there and hit submit again. I will then see the preview with the changes and can then either submit, or go back to the bottom and do more correcting.

On the far left side of each bar at the top of the page, you'll see the indented dots. Click on the dots of any one of the bars and drag it up or down. Your back button will be revealed, but the bars might not be in the order you want them. Just drag until they're back in order.

Often times after closing your browser and opening again, they are back in order. If you have more than one browser open, close them all and open one to see if your back button and other bars are back the way you prefer. If not, then do above to drag and reveal them.

Thanks, I rebooted and the problem is solved.

Sue, I meant to write when my message is rejected and I want to return to my reply to change the title a bit I need the arrow to do so. My hands got ahead of my mind. :)

Ok...great that you got it solved.

While I don't have any problems (now anyway) I'm left wondering about the 'dots' bestlawn mentioned above. I don't see any nor recall ever seeing, but that doesn't mean they aren't there...

Thanks bestlawn for the pic, but I must not have them. I don't see them on Firefox, or when I open IE.

I'm just not gonna worry about them, until I need them. How's that for a procrastinator's idea?

If your toolbar is locked - you won't see the dots.

Right click on your toolbar and you can lock/unlock your bar. It is a good idea to keep it locked so you don't accidentally move things around. Or let the DH "accidentally" move things around, LOL!

Yeah, forgot that part. Thanx, IowaGirl.
I keep mine unlocked so I can toggle to see other buttons that are hidden when it's locked.
